Paranormal is a general term (coined ca. 1915–1920 [ 1 ] [ 2 ] ) that designates experiences that lie outside "the range of normal experience or scientific explanation " [ 3 ] or that indicates phenomena understood to be outside of science's current ability to explain or measure. [ 1 ] [ 4 ] Paranormal phenomena are distinct from certain hypothetical entities, such as dark matter and dark energy , only insofar as paranormal phenomena are inconsistent with the world as already understood through empirical observation coupled with scientific methodology . [ 5 ]
The Bermuda Triangle , also known as the Devil's Triangle , is a region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft and surface vessels are said to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Popular culture has attributed these disappearances to the paranormal or activity by extraterrestrial beings . [ 1 ] Documented evidence indicates that a significant percentage of the incidents were inaccurately reported or embellished by later authors, and numerous official agencies have stated that the number and nature of disappearances in the region is similar to that in any other area of ocean. I can only assume they mean the pattern is 1-2 k long and not the diameter, because if that is the case the cross sections would be hundreds of feet. This can not be if they are merely 3-5 inches deep as seen in the photo. When viewed with this consideration in mind the flattened portions look more like roads in width.

A huge sand formation has appeared in salt flats in the Gobi Desert on the Qinghai Highway southwest of Xining, China ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qinghai ) - as reported by Awaker.net ( http://www.awaker.net/a/weijiezhimi/2011/0817/2695.html ). The circular formation appears to be some 1-2 km in length and looks from the photo to be engraved some 3-5 inches into the ground.
