The H-Beam structure is derived and used as a main design element in the Beams Chair, which shows the beauty of such construction. The main frame of the Chair is composed of two kinds of thin wood panel:multiplex and plywood. The two wood panels are combined together in such a way so as to offer directional perpendicular wooden structures and to create the H-Beam structure in the Chair. By such inventive arrangement of the wood panel, the specific H-beam structure is built up and an extraordinary stability of the Chair is ensured. The Chair is made of three different kinds of wood, bent plywood, multiplex and aircraft plywood.The strength of the structure of the plywood and multiplex thin sheets is quite strong in one direction, while relatively weak in other direction.

Belgian architects import.export architects have created a mobile multi-storey structure that allows people to camp in urban areas. The structure is made out off steel and supports four platforms on which tents can be pitched. Camping is defined as ‘getting away from an urban area, and enjoying nature, spending one or more nights on a location’. As such, the phrase Urban Camping contradicts itself.import.export ARCHITECTURE (Oscar Rommens en Joris Van Reusel, architecten) designed a new type of ‘small scale’ urban camping. Creating Wooden Origami Furniture – Table And Chairs. Here’s one furniture design who’s inspiration may have been partly taken from Origami, the Japanese art of folding paper. Wood as we all know is usually used as a rigid material for furniture and structures, holding its final designed shape, but this is one instance wherein it seems to be dynamic and organic in nature. Robert Van Embricqs , an architectural designer based in Amsterdam, designed pieces of wooden furniture that transforms and molds from what seems to be flat pieces of wooden boards into an intricate web of woven wooden slats forming functional tables and chairs.
Every wooden piece and wooden slat of each furniture was strategically measured, cut out to size and connected to other pieces with hinges. Each piece with its own role and moving in unison with the others as it dynamically transforms from the flattened out state to the formed furniture. Well, not with this chair, as you can’t possibly be creative enough to imagine what the Catacaos chair looks like. It has an original part made of flexible plastic material but also by its design, the chair Catacaos designed by Peruvian designer Frederico Otero, takes a different view of the back of the chair. The tapes reveal a separate wave motion, which comes back to its original design after it was pressed under the weight of its user. These plastic pieces look like the petals of a flower and are somewhat concentrical even if they are not round, but rather like a teardrop shape.
The smaller one is on the inside and the exterior ones are larger and larger. The range colour of the “backrest” bands makes this chair even more conspicuous and it gets really interesting when you realize this plastic is actually transparent. Scissor Chair.
