Picture, Picture on the Wall...

I love pictures. I am always looking at them, saving them, printing them and wishing I could take better ones. After my little photo session with Macie and her little dress, I decided it was time to spice up our walls with some new pictures. Keeping in mind that I took close to sixty-five pictures of Macie, I think getting three or four good ones was SUCCESS!! It was time to find something to do with the good pictures. http://www.thepinterestproject.com/2011/11/i-love-pictures.html

suddbar tavla – Craft of the Day, erasable board

I’m really diggin the whole hippy thing. And while Craig is quick to correct me on the fact that dream catchers are not hippy-ish, I still think of them that way. Natural, care free, simple. All things I relate to those old hippies. hah. The point of a dream catcher is to weed out bad dreams. http://www.kristanlynn.com/2011/10/dreamcatchers-tutorial.html

clay jewelry dishes - Lisa Storms

This is one of those projects I started just to have fun, never expecting to create something I truly loved! They are little dishes to hold jewelry, coins, keys, etc. Just in time for Mother's Day? I've never really worked with clay. Here I just used the Sculpey oven-bake clay my kids make stuff with. But by adding texture and paint, you can apparently transform something very simple into something beautiful. http://lisastorms.typepad.com/lisa-storms/2011/05/clay-jewelry-trays.html

Puff Daddy - knitted stool

Puff is the Norwegian word for stool. We really liked the pouf from Christien Meinderstsma , but it´s way out of our price range. This simple pattern for a knitted stool has much thinner yarn, but the budget is just as thin;) Nice to rest your legs on, and very popular for the kids. What we used: Eskimo, 18 balls (Or yarn suitable for US #13 needles) Acrylic yarn would probably be a really good alternative, as it´s a piece of furniture US #19 circular needles 2 cheap duves (feather and down)

Weekend Art Project « The New Domestic

http://thenewdomestic.com/2010/03/weekend-art-project/ e made a painting this weekend! We’ve been wanting a large scale art-piece to go up on our dining room wall. We had a large framed photograph up but, at 26″ x 32″, it didn’t have the right scale for the room.
Before I moved from Oregon to San Diego to be near my boyfriend (my now husband) we maintained a long distance relationship. A big part of that relationship was writing letters, email and LOTS of little love notes sent back and forth. We both saved all those letters and notes and once in while we will pull them out, spend time shaking our heads and laughing while reading them- so naive and silly we were! These days (insert 10 years) we still write each other notes and letters. http://alisaburke.blogspot.com/2010/09/love-note-pillow-tutorial.html

A paint-swatch chandelier? I think so :) {Step 1} You’ll need a whole bunch of paint swatches in your desired colours (seriously, emphasis on the whole bunch part). I picked a variety of blush, pink and red hues so I could get a fancy ombre look to my chandelier but I can only imagine how many different looks you could go for with your own chandelier. http://www.heygorg.com/2011/09/diy-paint-swatch-chandelier.html

DIY Paint Swatch Chandelier

Well, I've had my go at using paint chips recently for a baby shower decoration / gift for a friend. And I've since seen some amazing examples of creativity using paint chip cards. I'm sharing my favorites below, and you too can find inspiration with over 80 projects and pieces of art on this paint chip Pinterest board . Since the projects / works of art are so fabulous, I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

http://www.allthingspaper.net/2011/09/tp-tube-wall-art.html If you filed away the idea of making cardboard wall decor after seeing Suzy Myers' surprising faux iron scrollwork, now is probably the time to be saving up a supply of toilet paper tubes. I noticed a commercial for the Scott's Naturals tube-free variety a few nights ago, and realized cardboard rolls may soon be a thing of the past. The ad is a wonder of tp roll skyscrapers and such... wish I could share it with you here, but alas, no one has posted it on YouTube yet. (But it seems even tp rolls can stir up controversy, as you'll see in this video!) Leaving tha t behind, I didn't have to look far to find lots of inspiring cardboard tube decorating ideas. Here's a terrific family tree idea and tutorial by a young mom who blogs from Alaska at No Dime Design.

Head to your local thrift store, and you'll likely find a few, in all their harvest gold glory. Usually sold in kits, these guys involved strategically placed nails or pins that were connected by string or yarn to create geometrical shapes or mathematical patterns.

How to Make a Stone Heart - Craft Projects

I love the notion of sitting on the patio with a tall glass of sangria in the summer. Creating an outdoor space that you love to visit makes all the difference. Today we tackle a table that just about anybody and make.

So I had a different project that I was going to post today, an update version of my Book Pages Pendant Lantern from Project 19 , but then I started working on this light idea, and I am so excited by the results I just couldn’t wait to show you guys! My inspiration and guide was this light from Design*Sponge , that I spotted on Pinterest. I really liked the idea, and I had a roll of white vellum lying around left over from college that I thought would look beautiful. So I started cutting triangles. And then I started glueing.

One thing that we get a lot of envy of over in the Land Beyond Beyond, are the beautiful little mason jars. These beauties are ubiquitous when it comes to the expectations that we have of weddings Americana style. But, well the closest that we come to here are the Robinson’s marmalade jars – which really don’t do it for us – we love the look and feel of the lovely Mason’s. They have this chunky solid feel that we just love. So, of course you could colour us happy when we happened upon the Pure and Noble blog (check it out there are a whole load of lovely finds up in there). And we love that Brooke has repurposed some Mason Jars with spray paint – it tis rather epic.
