Creating a Light Sweep in Premiere Pro CS3

Jeff walks you through step-by-step the process of creating a track matte and feathering the edges of the matte to act as your light source. Then, Jeff illustrates how to composite the track matte on top of the original title, and shows you two different methods for creating the light sweep. You'll also learn how to use the Calculations effect with a nested composition to change how different tracks are blended together to make a final composite. AGENT MX-Z3RO—Making an Independent Movie (Part 8) - Inside Out. “This applies to many film jobs, not just editing: half the job is doing the job, and the other half is finding ways to get along with people and tuning yourself in to the delicacy of the situation.”

AGENT MX-Z3RO—Making an Independent Movie (Part 8) - Inside Out

-Walter Murch “The essence of cinema is editing. It's the combination of what can be extraordinary images of people during emotional moments, or images in a general sense, put together in a kind of alchemy.” -Francis Ford Coppola “Drama is life with the dull bits cut out.” Greetings… There are so many elements I want to share with you about my fantastic experience as a co-writer/producer/post sound guy and being a part of the process of picture editing our short film, that it would likely take 3 or 4 blogs! In Retrospect The first thing to share in retrospect is that I wish we had hired a script supervisor on set to take detailed notes of takes and footage. We also should have had an assistant editor for our editor Greg Babor to just organize and hand sync the dailies with the sound rolls.
