This Is What The Desk Of The Future Looks Like [VIDEO] EXOpc has posted a video of its EXOdesk — an interactive desk environment that lets you do all sorts of tasks on a virtual space on your desk — in action and it looks amazing. The actual device is a tabletop computer, somewhat similar to Microsoft Surface, offering 40 inches of high definition space, where you can manipulate virtual objects by touching them and dragging them around. The video offers a taste of what you can do with EXOdesk: add a virtual keyboard, an RSS feed stream and apps to your tabletop surface. A piano simulation app is shown, and though we don’t see much of its functionality, it looks stunning when expanded to the entire surface of EXOdesk. Although the release date is vaguely set for 2012, we already know EXOdesk will cost $1,299. If that sounds like a lot, compare it to the recently announced price of Microsoft Surface 2.0, which is $8,900, and it will suddenly seem like a bargain.

You choose! Designed by Lu Chieh Hua, Headphone or Speaker combines the lightweight mobility of headphones with the sound amplification of a speaker into a single unit that makes it possible to both listen to your music privately or share with others. A unique twisting mechanism allows the unit to be propped upright for directing sound and automatically shifts playing modes and volume between operations, transforming it from headphone to speaker in a flash. As many curbs as I’ve hit, I might just need these tires! Resilient Tech has been testing these out for some time now, developing them for the military. Its a radical new design by Michelin and made in South Carolina. They are the next generation of tires and have already been previewed in Philadelphia at a car show. Here it is in motion…. These tires are airless and should be on the market soon….if they aren’t already. Not that I ever had to do that anyways!! Tiles May Help Shrink Carbon Footprint by Harnessing Pedestrian Power

Grose in London The slabs are produced by Pavegen Systems , a London startup launched in 2009 by Laurence Kemball-Cook, a fresh-faced, 26-year-old Londoner who developed his clean energy idea while earning a degree in industrial design and technology at Loughborough University. The 17.7-by-23.6-inch (45-by-60-centimeter) tiles are designed to be used wherever pedestrians congregate en masse: transportation hubs such as train, subway, and bus stations; airports; schools; malls; bustling shopping avenues.

The power generated from millions of footfalls can be used to operate a range of low-power applications, including lighting, signs, digital ads, and Wi-Fi zones. (Related Photos: " Nature Yields New Ideas for Energy and Efficiency ") Nearly 30 permanent and temporary Pavegen projects have been installed in the U.K. and Europe. But higher profile gigs loom. Kemball-Cook got the idea for the slabs while working for a power company as part of his Loughborough studies. Nextep1.jpg (605×682)
