Last week, the average gas price was $3.83 a gallon, the previous record according to data going back to 1990. AP: Iran may be cleaning up nuke work. VIENNA (AP) – Satellite images of an Iranian military facility appear to show trucks and earth-moving vehicles at the site, indicating an attempted cleanup of radioactive traces possibly left by tests of a nuclear-weapon trigger, diplomats told the Associated Press on Wednesday.

The assertions from the diplomats, all nuclear experts accredited to the International Atomic Energy Agency, could add to the growing international pressure on Iran over its nuclear program, which Tehran insists is for peaceful purposes. Meet the Israeli ‘Octet’ That Would Decide an Iran Attack. The comedian and filmmaker has been the smartest and funniest person in the room since he was in high school (maybe even earlier).

Here he's profiled just after making his first film. Albert Brooks’ second album, A Star is Bought, is the best comedy record most of you have probably never heart. It was never released on CD and it’s not available on ITunes. And that’s a shame because the record—which was made in collaboration with Harry Shearer—is one of the finest comedy albums ever made. Never mind that it was nominated for a Grammy or that it was in many ways a precursor to faux-documentary style of This Is Spinal Tap, it Albert in top form. According to Paul Slansky, who wrote “Everybody Should Have an Albert” for The Village Voice in March 1979, Brooks owns the rights to A Star is Bought, he just isn’t motivated to re-release it. C'mon, Albert: Please. He knows funny when he sees it which is why he was a beauty fit to write about Albert.

So whatever happened to Albert Brooks? Israelis, like United States, wary about strike on Iran. Amid an escalating din among Israeli leaders about the threat of a potentially nuclear Iran, the Israeli public has displayed little enthusiasm for a solo preemptive military strike.

Israelis, like United States, wary about strike on Iran

A handful of recent polls have shown that ordinary Israelis are firmly against the idea of going it alone. “Israelis are much more careful, much more cautious than their government,” said Ephraim Yaar, a Tel Aviv University professor who co-directs a monthly public opinion survey. This week, more than 60 percent of Israelis polled said they opposed an attack on Iran without U.S. cooperation. In the will-they-or-won’t-they guessing game that discussion about a military strike has become here, few view public opinion as a predictor of outcome. Netanyahu is sharply attuned to public sentiment, analysts say, but he has repeatedly emphasized — most recently in Washington — that he is driven by an obligation to protect Israel even without U.S. blessing, though he clearly wants it.

Canadian Jews denounce Israeli war threats against Iran

In Canada the Jewish community has denounced Israel's threatening policies against Iran. The Israel lobby tries to portray Jewish Canadians as members of a monolithic community that supports Israel and Zionism. In reality however, many Jews denounce Israeli crimes against the Palestinians as well as its war mongering policies against Iran. Channel 2 in Israel, sourcing a “senior American official”, says that the decision has already been made by the Israeli government to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities. “All U.S. intelligence officials are confident the Israeli leadership has already decided to attack Iran, unless a significant change happens in the coming weeks or months with the Iranian nuclear program,” Channel 2 reports. The report comes just hours ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to AIPAC in Washington. AIPAC is the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and is widely considered the most powerful pro-Israel lobby group in the United States. American officials have warned their Israeli counterparts about a regional war following an attack on Iran, along with the collapse of Israel’s stock market and an arms race in the Middle East, according to the report.
