Colorado Wind Power: DIY Electric Violin. Building your Owen electric violin can be easy.this is my first music instrument i have ever built and it turned out great. The Wood was bought locally and some parts were boughton eBay the neck was bought on eBay, My carving skills just arent that good and it wasvery inexpensive to buy The pick up was also bought on EBay I first started out with the basic dimensions for a full size Violin, by tracing the basic outline Of a acoustic Violin on a large sheet of paper. then I erased what I did not want and added in what I did by connecting the dots so to speak.it is important to keep all the lengths the same.. The wood I chose for this Violin was Zebra Wood form Africaand Paduak. In the photo below is shown the area I carved out for the electronics first using a rotozip for the basic area I wanted to carve out and then I used a 1/4 inch chisel to remove the remaining unwanted wood. after the carving was done I then glued the two haves together with wood Glue Here is the finished Violin.
