Worldwide, data is growing at a tremendous rate. However, one recent study has pointed out that the size of files is not necessarily growing at the same rate; meaning the number of files is growing rapidly. http://www.cyberciti.biz/ A dobe announced that the Flash player for Linux will only be available for Google Chrome browser on Linux and has announced their plans to abandon future updates of Flash player for Linux. From the blog post: For Flash Player releases after 11.2, the Flash Player browser plugin for Linux will only be available via the “Pepper” API as part of the Google Chrome browser distribution and will no longer be available as a direct download from Adobe . Adobe will continue to provide security updates to non-Pepper distributions of Flash Player 11.2 on Linux for five years from its release.

The former is a fork of GNOME 2, while the later is an attempt to bring sanity to GNOME 3, to make it look like something designed for use on desktop computers. However, if you attempt to run it on older computers, those without 3D acceleration, or in a virtual environment using VirtualBox, you will very likely get this error message shown in the screen shot below. read more...
