Televisionography 2000-2011. WALKING DEAD Producer Developing AREA 51 TV Series. The producer of the hit zombie TV series The Walking Dead Gale Anne Hurd is developing a new series with her Valhalla Entertainment production company based on the legendary Area 51. The series will be based on a book they optioned called Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base, which was written by Annie Jacobsen. The book itself gives some interesting information on highly classified military base. The information she gathered came from people who actually worked on the base. The show is being planned as a hour-long drama, and it will follow two men working on the base who are thrust into danger when they uncover secrets that the government will protect at any cost.

Cable vs. Network While network TV took the majority of the nominations in the Comedy or Musical Television Series category (Showtime being the only cable network to score two of the six comedy series noms), four of the five drama series nominated were cable shows, including AMC’s The Walking Dead and Mad Men as well as HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and Showtime’s Dexter.
