Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced their debut title for the Nintendo 3DS™ handheld system: Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters. The action-adventure game will also be released in 3D, as well as 2D, for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is set to invade the third dimension in North America beginning June 7 in conjunction with Warner Bros. Pictures’ epic superhero feature film Green Lantern scheduled for release June 17. The Nintendo 3DS version of the game is designed specifically to take advantage of the system’s stereoscopic 3D capabilities and deliver multi-plane graphics that delve players further into the Green Lantern universe.

Hero Complex reports that Geoffrey Rush (The King’s Speech) will voice Tomar-Re, the CG-rendered alien teacher of the newest Green Lantern, Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds). Though Green Lantern news has been scarce up until recently (due in large part to reworking some visual effects), there will be new footage shown at this weekend’s WonderCon. Also, the first trailer for Green Lantern was released last November, but the studio will attach a new trailer in the previews for Thor. Le site CBM a réussi à obtenir, par l'intermédiaire d'une étrange source proche des studios, les planches ainsi qu'une photo de ce qui serait deux vilains du film Green Lantern dont un qui représente une grosse surprise. Le premier Parallax était déjà confirmé depuis longtemps, et une photo de plus se rajoute à celles des concept arts dont on disposait auparavant : Le second serait Krona, ennemi connu de Hal dans le comic book et qui représente une puissance quasi divine et n'est rien d'autre que le créateur du mal dans l'univers. Ces deux concept arts nous montrent ce à quoi il devrait ressembler si évidemment, il sera dans ce film : Tout nous porte à croire que les deux entités seront confondues, tant la ressemblance est frappante.
