Abstract Sunday mirrors Christoph Niemann's illustrations for The Times Magazine and is an archive of Abstract City, his Opinion column, which ran from 2008 through early 2011. Niemann's work has appeared on the covers of The New Yorker, Newsweek, Wired and American Illustration and has won numerous awards from the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the Art Directors Club and American Illustration. He is the author of many books, among them “The Pet Dragon” , which teaches Chinese characters to young readers, “I LEGO N.Y.” and, most recently, “SUBWAY.” It is based on “The Boys and the Subway,” the first entry of the Abstract City blog. It has been a crazy year, SuperPals. From our incredible Kickstarter campaign that financed our (As of yet untitled but fully shot) Space Opera, to the fantastic pre-sale of our Season 2 DVDs, to the newly acquired Nerd Castle: SMBC Theater is continuing strong on our quest for world *ahem* internet domination. The best part: We have you to thank for it! As we head into 2012, we are preparing tons of great new things. This includes our newly designed website (by the incredibly talented Chris Jones), going back to weekly sketches starting in February, new shows (including brand spankin'' new episodes of Hand To Mouth), and lots of live events/broadcasts throughout the week. WE'RE COMING BACK TO CHICAGO!
