SONY VAIO P originally shipped with the Windows Vista and later on, after few months, we saw official Windows XP variants of it. Windows Vista, out of box, ran pretty badly due to the large amount of crapware installed by Sony. I went for a fresh Windows Vista installation (at that time) and tweaked the heck out of it and it ran pretty fine.
In my quest to travel as light as possible, I finally broke down and purchased a Sony VAIO P notebook or netbook or UMPC (whatever…).

Pour écrire en caractères cyrilliques, on n'a pas besoin d'acheter un clavier spécial.I managed to get the GMA500 working on 10.04 (Lucid Lynx), 2d worked just fine, no 3d / compiz bells and whistles. To be honest I wasn't impressed with performance, youtube low def videos were not even watchable. But overall it felt quite snappy and I liked what they have done with the re-vamped gui. I have since gone back to Windows 7 (I'm on a crusade to find THE best OS for my P) with the new iegd drivers and youtube standard def vids are completely watchable even at full screen. I never managed to get the GMA500 working under Jolicloud, might revisit that one. So far I've tried the following OS's:
