Dystopian Wars Home

Imagine a world similar to our own, but subtly different. Now imagine the year is 1870 and the Industrial Revolution occurred decades earlier than in our own world. Technology is far advanced, and in many cases, unrecognisable, which has led to the development of fantastic naval vessels, hulking land ships and terror from the skies in the form of airships and war balloons. http://www.spartangames.co.uk/games/dystopian-wars
"In 1884 American inventor Frank Stockburn invented a machine that generated a power opposite to that of gravity. His machine, called the Negative Gravity Screw was used to make the first Aeronef. History changed from that date..." http://www.blease.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/WG.aeronef.html

A goblin zeppelin is a form of transportation that consists of a wooden gondola attached to a large balloon, into which hot air is pumped by a phlogiston boiler. They are swift, able to make long journeys, and pass above rough terrain.

Retro-Futuristic Airship - the Vindoclavian | Webomator Blog

Here’s a test rendering of the 3D model I’ve been working on – it’s the Airship Vindoclavian , a lighter than air dirigible that incorporates some steering propellers from an old Modern Mechanix & Inventions cover and an exoskeletal frame that’s unlike any that were ever used in zeppelins (German zeppelins used internal, four-spoked frames, while the US Navy’s dirigibles used a similar, but three-spoked frame that the German engineers disapproved of*). That frame and another aspect of the design are really intended just to make the nature of the ship more apparent… so I have to figure out what crazy notions led to those changes.
I'm taking a two-week break from the blog. My official vacation starts Thursday, but I want to spend what free time I have this week working heavily on my various writing projects.
