Eden Project. The Eden Project (Cornish: Edenva) is a visitor attraction in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom.
Inside the artificial biomes are plants that are collected from all around the world. The project is located in a reclaimed Kaolinite pit, located 1.25 mi (2 kilometres) from the town of St Blazey and 5 kilometres (3 mi) from the larger town of St Austell, Cornwall.[2] The complex is dominated by two huge enclosures consisting of adjoining domes that house thousands of plant species,[3] and each enclosure emulates a natural biome.
The domes consist of hundreds of hexagonal and pentagonal, inflated, plastic cells supported by steel frames. The first dome emulates a tropical environment, and the second a Mediterranean environment. Design and construction[edit] Upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/77/Eden_project1.JPG. Stonehenge. Camera crews were on location in the Peak District's most visited dale this month (October) filming scenes for a forthcoming BBC documentary which celebrates the Centenary of the work of the National Trust in Derbyshire by heralding the dawning of a new designation for Dovedale as a National Nature Reserve.
Already designated as a `Site of Special Scientific Interest' owing to it's rich and delicately balanced biodiversity and protected as an `Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', Dovedale is entirely within the Peak District National Park and is owned mainly by the National Trust. It has three summits, each quite separate from the others, and this is often supposed to be the source of the English name The Rivals. But this is merely an anglicised form of Yr Eifl, meaning "the forks" or "the strides" (Welsh: gafl, plural geifl). On a clear day, the views from the top summit reach as far as the Isle of Man, the Wicklow mountains in Ireland and the Lake District, as well as the entire sweep of Cardigan Bay. The view of Yr Eifl is especially striking from the SW coast of Anglesey, for instance from Llanddwyn island. The three peaks[edit] There are three peaks: 1081. Black Country Living Museum.

The museum preserves some important buildings from around the Metropolitan Boroughs of Dudley, Sandwell and Walsall and the City of Wolverhampton; mainly in a specially built village. Most buildings were relocated from their original sites to form a base from where demonstrators portray life in the period from the 1850s to the 1950s. The museum is constantly changing as new exhibits, especially buildings, are being added. Background[edit] The Stourbridge Glass Industry.

Cities have existed for thousands of years and can be traced back to the river valley civilizations of Mesopotamia (present-day Iraq), Egypt, India, and China.
At first, these settlements depended largely on agriculture and domestic cattle, but as they grew in size they became centers for merchants and traders. Urban growth, also known as urbanization, accelerated dramatically with the advent of industrialization some 200 years ago. At that time, large numbers of people moved to cities in search of jobs, mostly in factories. But the most rapid growth has taken place over the past 50 years. While less than one-third of the world's population lived in cities in 1950, about two thirds of humanity is expected to live in urban areas by 2030. Urban is defined as "that which is characteristic of a city.
" Cities make a lot of sense for humans. Cities have always been at the center of economic growth and technological advances. Top Ten Digital Photography Tips.
