Yesterday I tweeted a call for help that went like this: "hey! Let's play a game called help me write my book, content suggestions welcome!" Exclamation points and everything. The game is still not over so do take this opportunity should you feel so inclined to interject an idea or two in the comment box below low low and behold hold hold. The feedback was great, appreciated, smart and funny, I particularly liked one idea though, not necessarily for the sake of a book filled with words not photos, but rather for right here, where dreams are made and crushed in one instantaneous click.
On the way to Key West, I stopped at Bud n’ Mary’s marina ( there are many pelicans and giant pelicans there ), Bahia Honda beach, and No Name Key to see the tiny deers. When I first saw it on the runway, I told myself it was really special and secretly dreamed to wear it.
For the atmosphere and the deco, for the shopping – Isabel Marant, Suno, Rochas and Jil Sander mixed with younger brands and treasures Maryam brings back from her travels… And of course for Maryam herself, but I’ll tell you more about her soon. Her blog is pretty cool if you’re interested in her aesthetic. If you’re in New York for the holidays, what’s nice to do in the neighborhood is to go to Maryam’s, then go check Narnia, a really cool vintage store. Then you can make a stop at Schiller’s, a delicious yet a little bit over trendy restaurant (which is exactly what you want when you visit a city) that gets a little bit too crowded during the weekend (brunch nightmaaaare !)
Can’t wait to read Lizzie ‘s book! I have my girly moments, but I’ve always been a tomboy. Pre-order here , and if you haven’t checked out here blog , it’s a must!
After much deliberation, I have decided to finally release FASHEMATICAL Issue #2! A few months ago, I received the zines hot off the press, stickered them with my cover star (a former hero), photographed them and prepared to upload them for sale, checked my favourite news site and lo and behold… The cover star is suddenly an extremely inappropriate choice that was made unknowingly almost six months prior… and now I have 200 inappropriate zines sitting in my studio! Well, I hope that the zombie cover can be read as a statement and that the robot illustration (with the big brain) can be ignored!!
Thursday, March 22, 2012 I can’t believe Spring is here so quickly. Cool evenings and warm afternoons, my assistant Maggie says it’s her favorite time of the year because she can wear everything in her wardrobe all at once. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 Transitional dressing….Summer shoes and Winter coat.
