I’m Shayna. In the past 10 years I’ve worked as a chemist, web designer, English teacher, and translator – and now I’m trying my hand at entrepreneurship. The one thing that has remained constant is my spirit of adventure and my love of reflecting on and writing about my experiences. Why “Adventurous Soul”? Living life as an adventure means having an inquisitive mind and trying new things. Living with soul is living with passion, reflecting on experiences and using them to grow. In the UK, we already use debit cards, credit cards or bank payments like direct debit more than we use cash – and the move from cash to card is getting faster because of new contactless payments. You just tap your card or smart phone on a reader to pay for your coffee or bus journey or some other small transaction. Is it a good thing? Well, obviously, it’s quick and convenient, and in some ways it’s safer not to carry around cash. However, speaking as someone who is a bit tight – or to put it more politely, someone who is careful with my money – I worry that it makes it just too easy to spend money.
