Currently located in three Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh locations for weekly workshops, The Labs provides teenagers with access to equipment, software, and mentors in an innovative learning environment with the focus on creativity and creation! Through informal workshops teens can learn to create everything from a robot to a film. With the assistance of mentors (artist educators with backgrounds in a variety of disciplines), teens receive the level of assistance they need in order to learn something new. Tacoma Public Library. The Media Lab equipment will not be available until the new Adult Services Media Lab is complete, which may take 1-3 months. Opened in September 2009, the Digital Media Lab is located on the 1st floor of the Library and is open to adult (high school and older) Skokie Public Library members.
It contains four new Apple desktop computers loaded with software that will enable users to creatively express themselves through digital videos, music, photography, websites, graphic design, podcasts, presentations and other forms of digital media. The room also features two scanners, an electronic keyboard, and a green screen wall. Digital cameras, Flip video camcorders, portable hard drives, tripods, and other items are also available for seven-day checkouts. What are the rules?
