Valentine Fun with Guest Blogger Mae Chevrette : DIY Non-Corny Valentine's Day Coupon Book!

I love Valentine's Day because it's such a fun day to give someone a little extra reminder that you're thinking of them, and a great excuse to make something crafty. Here's how to make a cute and fun coupon book for your crush or significant other-- substituting those corny "Good For 1 Kiss" coupons for a shared inside joke, a future date, or something they'll really appreciate, like a favorite homemade meal. They'll laugh as they read your inside jokes and appreciate that you put so much thought into making it personal. You will need: - Significant other - Inside jokes and funny memories - Red scrap paper or cardstock - This printable coupon template (or, draw your own!) http://www.kindovermatter.com/2010/02/valentine-fun-with-guest-blogger-mae.html

Jelly Xmas Star Tutorial

With Xmas not too far away I thought it would be fun to do a little crochet Xmas decoration tutorial.... You'll need some 8ply yarn (I used heirloom super fine Australian Merino Wool) and a 4mm hook. (note - american crochet terms are used for this pattern) To start, make a foundation chain of 5, join with a slip stitch to the first chain to form a ring.

snowflakes.

With all of this snow outside, we have been making our own inside. I'm sure most of you have made borax crystal strings or snowflakes before - but if you have not, it is a fun project for this time of year. The boys first made strings of crystals, and then moved up to pipe cleaner snowflakes. easy to make:: In a wide mouth canning jar, add 3 Tbsp of borax per 2 cups of boiling water. stir to dissolve. Make a shape using a pipe cleaner, and hang it from a pencil suspended across the jar mouth using a piece of yarn (don't let it touch the bottom). Be sure water is high enough to cover.
I was planning to write a post telling you about a couple of random things. All those random things are what is happening in my life right now… a BUNCH of different things. In that way maybe you could take a peek on my brain and see how this head is “working”.

Wire Heart Bookmarks

Last week I made some hearts out of copper wire to use as bookmarks (inspired by these Martha Stewart paper clip charms I've been wanting to make for years). I just followed these directions: Cut a 5" length of 20 gauge wire (I used copper from the hardware store) Bend in the middle at a 90 degree angle Grip each end of the wire with round nose pliers and roll towards the center to form a heart I rough hammered mine and aged them with a torch, then packaged them up to give to some friends.

For Branden's birthday, I decided to try to get a little creative, So of course I went on Pinterest and found the perfect thing! I created an "All About You Basket" It was centered around a "101 reason why I love" you list which, might I add, was not an easy task
