DIY: Skinny Ties

http://www.designmom.com/2010/08/diy-skinny-ties/ One of Ralph’s requests for his birthday was skinny ties. They are surprisingly hard to find — either too long or too expensive for a 13-year-old’s wardrobe. So a few weeks ago, I had an idea: I would buy some old fat ties at a thrift shop and take them to a tailor to have them altered.

DIY Project - CD Wallet Scrapbook

http://www.weddingbee.com/2007/06/12/eggplant-diy-project-cd-wallet-scrapbook/ I’ve always thought that the sign of a healthy relationship is a couple that’s stronger when they’re together than they are individually. There’s something about being with Mr. Eggplant that brings out the best in me and challenges me to grow. I like to think that the theme of our relationship can be wrapped up in two words (and coincidentally one song by Jack Johnson): Better together.

http://howaboutorange.blogspot.com/2009/10/make-gift-bow-from-magazine-page.html In gift wrap emergencies when you've got the present but need some wrapping, here's an idea for turning a magazine page into a bow. There may be better ways to stick this thing together, but I used what I had on hand: staples and adhesive glue dots . Double stick tape or brads should work, too. Cut a magazine page lengthwise into 9 strips, 3/4" wide. Leave 3 of the strips full length.

Make a gift bow from a magazine page

I saw an idea like this a long time ago. I don't remember if it was in a magazine or on the internet, but it was prior to me blogging, and documenting sources. I've been wanting to try it for years. Inside the above ornament is a wedding invitation. I made it for a friend as a keepsake to commemorate her wedding. http://christyrobbins.blogspot.com/2011/07/wedding-invitation-ornament.html
