Wooden Floor Mat — Lowe’s Creative Ideas. Glow Water - Martha Stewart Holiday & Seasonal Crafts. Canvas Project. To all of your coming over from Pinterest:Thanks so much for stopping by! Who knew such a simple project could become so popular? If you have any questions please ask! You can also check the comments because many people have shared tips and tricks they discovered as they've tried this project. Also, there's a misconception going around Pinterest that you can use glue for this project. Several people have told me that glue does not work. A few weeks ago on Pinterest I found this lovely ditty. One thing you need to know about me is that I'm a font snob. I apparently got two different kinds of puffy paint. I knew I wouldn't be able to get a lot of detail using puffy paint, so I chose a font that was simple but not average. I didn't want to paint right onto my canvas because puffy paint is famous for getting random air bubbles. The next step was to peel the letters off of the wax paper and place them on my canvas.

Once it was all done, I hung it up over the kitchen table. Fabric Fireworks. I made a little red/white/blue sun dress for Ruby to wear for the holiday. Of course we needed something for her hair so I came up with these. If I were more on top of things, I would have made a bunch of these for my etsy shop. But instead I'll show you how you can make your own. Run to your scrap bin and get started ... they are so easy! It's late and I should be packing for our weekend trip, so I have to make this as quick as possible. (click on all photos to enlarge) Ok ... hope you liked it. Happy 4th of July! *linked up at:Patriotic ParadeSew & Tell Friday. DIY Hacks. Twas a crafty craft christmas. Homemade Stamps - Tutorial. I have been really needing (okay, wanting but still!) Some background stamps to use on my mixed media pieces.

Well, not just background stamps but all kinds of stamps...I love stamps and they are so quick and easy to use and add interest to the pieces I'm working on...but finances do NOT allow for any unnecessary purchases right now. I mean, if it ain't the electric bill, water bill, groceries or mortgage, it isn't in the budget. So, I did what any self-respecting artist would do....I put on my thinking cap and got creative! What do you get when you take the Jenga game blocks that your grandboy has lost a few out of the box...throw in some craft foam you have laying around (that was supposed to be used for some other project you never got around to), a pair of scissors, some Aleene's clear Tacky glue and a heavy dose of your imagination?

Well, with an hour or two on your hands and some ideas in your head you end up making your OWN stamps! YAY for imagination and ingenuity, huh? Trumeau Mirror or whatever you wanna call it. Why is it that I cannot finish a project in one sitting??? I started this thing last weekend determined to finish it. It didn't happen. Shocking isn't it. I have been wanting to make a "frame" for my mirror for a while. You know how it goes you think about it, add it to the to do list and one day you see a fabulous mirror somewhere and it moves up the list. I couldn't finish it last weekend because the plywood refused to take the paint and I ran out. To make the "frame" I cut a piece of plywood to the size I wanted. I laid the mirror on the plywood and started playing around with different trim. The carved piece along the top is something I got a million years ago but never quite figured out what to do with.

I spray painted, dry brushed with off white paint and used dark brown glaze to finish. I love the color against the dark wall. This is the view when you walk into the room. Ya know I really have no idea what style I am going for here but I like it. French Enameled Numbers. I've been perusing french blogs lately. I can't read a lick of the language but haven't taken the time to Google translate because I'm mesmerized by the pictures. One item I run across time and again are those wonderful enameled numbers. (I read that they are vintage wine barrel markers) I've been dying to create my own.

The trick seems to be in finding the blank tags. I got these brass ones at my local True Value hardware store in the key department. Materials metal tags sand paper white spray paint StazOn ink pad clear embossing powder parchment paper twine Tools number rubber stamps electric fry pan spatula Lightly sand the tags to provide a tooth for the spray paint. Spray the tags with white paint then allow to dry. Place a sheet of parchment paper or aluminum foil on the surface of an electric pan. Immediately cover the tags with clear embossing powder. I threaded twine through the hole and wrapped it around an old mason jar. I've seen these tied to candles, flower pots and glass cloches. 3-D Cardboard Star.
