Domestic Bliss: {A Christmas Project} Have you ever seen something in a catalog and wanted it so bad, but you just couldn't justify the cost? Well, I saw this in my Ballard Catalog a few weeks ago, and thought just that. I mean, $49????? I don't think so! So what's a girl to do? Step 1: Create your template.Ok, so I used the same silhouette from their website by searching through istock. Step 2: Cut out your patternNow you will want to cut out your design with an xacto knife. Step 3: Make your FrameNow you want to make your frame. Step 4: Cutting the BackgroundOnce your frame is dry, you will want to trace it's size onto a red piece of poster board. Step 5: Connect the Dots...Glue Dots that is! Step 6: Stick it to 'umOnce you have all the glue dots on the back, you want to line up the bottom and stick down the silhouette onto the red paper.

Step 7: Prepare the frameNow you want to put the glue dots all along the back of the frame. Now flip it over and find somewhere awesome to put it for your holiday! Candy Cane Sugar Scrub. Be sure to check out the rest of our Body Care Craft Kits, and use discount code NBWS4277 to save 7% on extra ingredients and packaging! Since scrubs are one of my all time favorite bath and body products, I've decided to feature a new scrub recipe every month on The Natural Beauty Workshop. Every month I will share a different recipe using some of our favorite natural and complimentary ingredients.

I'm looking forward to the challenge of creating new and interesting scrubs on a regular basis. The first scrub of this series was inspired by one of the season's sweetest mascots, the candy cane. Creamy Shealoe Butter has been scented with peppermint and mixed into white sugar. Red Jojoba Wax Beads give this recipe an added flair of color! Candy Cane Sugar Scrub Just like piping icing onto a cake, pipe your scrub onto the walls of a clear jar. This scrub can also be made in one color. Recipe & DIY Tutorial: S’mores Push Pops.

How to Make Leaf Skeletons | The Idea Room. I wanted to share with you a project from one of my readers who shares with us how to make leaf skeletons. I LOVE this! I have several leafs in various forms displayed in my home and knew I needed to make some of her leaf skeletons to add to my decor. I love how a pattern of leaves can enhance the beauty in your home. So I asked Heather if she would mind sharing her project with you. You can find more great projects from Heather at her blog The Other White House. I have spent hours and tried various ways of making these. Kailey did these last year in her botany class with our homeschool group.

You need washing soda, not baking soda! Gather your leaves. Washing soda is a strong base so you may want to wear gloves when handling the leaves. You will add 3/4 cup of washing soda and 4 cups of water to your pot of leaves. Keep going, you will need to add more water so your pan doesn’t dry out. When 1.75 hours are up fill a glass baking dish with cool water. 37.1Kstumbleupon. 24. Herbal Fire Starter - 25 Eco-Chic Ideas for Your Home - Green Home Guide - WholeLiving.com. 6. Okay…I love giveaways, but it is going to be nice to get back to some regular posting.

What about you? As you know, I have a love for all things MONOGRAMMED! I have been wanting to make some monogrammed soap for quite a while now, but have been unsure about how to go about it. So the other day, I just thought I would do a test run and see what happened. Overall, I am happy with the turnout. Then I let my 3 year old carve my practice soap while I worked on one of “the real things”. Supplies: Lever Soap 2000 (I liked how soft and easy this soap was to carve and work with) glue dots length of ribbon scrapbook paper vegetable peeler standard screwdriver (smaller the better) Q-tips monogram pattern non-permanent marker straightened paper clip First I started with the vegetable grater and gently shaved off the Lever 2000 logo that was imprinted in the soap. As soon as the logo is almost completely gone you can finish and just smooth any uneven areas. Then I took my circled monogram and printed it out.
