Representatives of key innovation policy and smart city stakeholders from Tampere visit Bilbao and Basque Country this week on 24-25 June. The study visit is organized in connection with the project "TRES - Towards Regional spEcialisation for Smart growth spirit”, led by Fundación TECNALIA Research & Innovation, Spain, and partnered by BIF.
TRES aims to mobilise the innovation potential and capacity of regions towards smart growth. Bilbao’s / Basque Country’s excellence in innovation and cluster policies and in innovation performance, as well as in smart city related development, is well-known in Tampere. In connection with the TR3S study visit, the Tampere delegation learns about smart city and innovation policies and projects in Bilbao /Basque Country, and discusses smart city and innovation related EU cooperation opportunities with Basque Country and Bilbao partners.
