4 Men 1 Lady: On our chalkboard this week. BEFORE AND AFTER. Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well. Today, I finally have some before pictures to share with you. I had to take pictures of actual printed pictures, so the qualities not the best, but I think you can still get the idea of just how horrible this place looked before. This (above) is after we took out the pantry cabinets (below) and moved the frig. Before... great storage, but the frig HAD to go there. Yikes... so scary!! Granite counters, new hardware, etc., etc. After we tore out the bar... Before (above)... creating a larger opening into the laundry room. Aaah... much better.

We took the doors off the cabinets for display and to give it more of a cottage feeling. You can barely tell which way is up in this picture... lol! My ex-husband doing more demolition (above)... this time outside. HAD to help their Daddy. :) After... we took out the garage door, changed the siding, and added french doors. You can see where this french door takes you. I've shared with you. ;-) for visiting!

~ Jo :-) Kitchen Transformation: Photos of a Step-by-Step Renovation Process. Over the past two plus years I have been working on my kitchen. It is the most expensive room to remodel in the house, so I've been doing it piece by piece which is slighting difficult for the impatient (that would be me) but also very satisfying to transform the space exactly how I want it, as I can afford it. What I find to be utmost gratifying is to look at the photos of the process. I am not there yet, but I have certainly come a long way! This is the original kitchen. We started by ripping down the ceiling and discovered that the upper cabinet boxes were actually 36 inches.

You can see the extended height of the upper cabinets in this photo as well as the frame work for the new crown molding that will be added. As a cost saving measure I had the cabinets professionally sprayed using Benjamin Moore Aura paint in Cotton Balls and Laura Ashley's Ivy Wreath on the bottom cabinets. This photo shows the detail of the crown and the new lighting. Today my kitchen looks like this. Herringbone Table Makeover. Today I am sharing my Herringbone Table Makeover {as posted on Chic on a Shoestring a while ago} This was a risky project for me.

Painting a white herringbone pattern onto our dining room table could have been a disaster! But I freaking LOVE it!!! And it can't really get any worse than this before shot, can it? We've had this table for years! So I began by taking over the garage and sanding the stuffing out of our poor table.

After sanding it to a fine finish and making the table look like new, I decided to paint a herringbone pattern onto it. I continued to paint the herringbone pattern {with acrylic paint} over my entire table. So I decided to give my pattern a distressed finish and lightly sanded the herringbone before applying 6-8 coats of clear varathane finish. I am so glad that I stuck it out. Adding a fun pattern is great way to update a sad looking old table and give it new life!

Wouldn't this be gorgeous if you used a dark stain instead of the white paint? Kitchen Cabinets with DIY Drawers. Some of you may have seen my sneak peek of what I have been up to last week. Seriously, this project took me forever to do. Day one consist of me going to bake some cuppy cakes and couldn't find the pan that I wanted and a glass mixing bowl sliding out of my bottom cabinet landing on the tip of my little piggy.

So scratch the whole cupcake making day. I had a plan that I concocted in me head for about 3 seconds and got right to it. Soooooooooo when I get there I realize that these darn drawers are $63-$65 EACH!!!!!!!!!!! No way. I got home and didn't have any energy to even begin. I love this man guys. Day two I got down to business. I started by making my drawers. 11 in all. 2) 13"by22"by4" 4) 13"by22"by3" 2) 11 1/2"by22"by4" 3)11 1/2"by22"by3" I made them by using a basic drawer design. 4 sides and a bottom. I decided it would be the easiest thing to make a housing or frame for my drawers and just screw the housing into the cabinets already assembled.

This is what they look like. Interiors%25201-91%255B8%255D.jpg (image) Luis_bustamante214.png (image) 110056784613438856_ufkRi77t_c.jpg 553×705 pixels.
