Overlapping Post Stitch Pattern. The Chroma Crochet Bag features a stitch pattern that I’ve seen in several places – but the only name I’ve seen for it is Ripple Stitch – and since I has nothing to do with chevrons I think it’s time to give it a new name.

Seriously. I'm especially impressed with the acrylic selection. Vanna's Choice, Cotton Ease (which also has great labels), and Red Heart Soft are all being made in totally amazing colors. Back in the 90s when I was crocheting ALL THE TIME, there wasn't a lot to choose from if you were making $10 an hour in San Francisco and wanted muted, edgy colors.

OK, there was *nothing* to choose from. There was one granny square blanket in particular that I made in variegated rainbow, bright purple, yellow, green, etc., that would make your eyes bleed. I did manage to make a tasteful blanket out of Red Heart for my little sister's wedding present. I even splurged on some Lion Brand Microspun for hats and scarves for Andrew and I when we first met. Remember last year, when someone in the comments asked for a video? And then this year, when I said I wanted to start making video tutorials? Well! It’s taken much longer than expected, but what started with this… …and included a whole lot of swearing, sweating, nervous laughter, and general crochet shenanigans, has born crochet video goodness! There was much trial and error, a week of dithering on the music selection (what is “moogly music”? Now, may I present, the first official moogly instructional video! Bobble stitches are worked from the “wrong side” – meaning they pop out away from you as you work. Someday I hope to stop feeling like a doofus whenever I hear my own voice.
