PinBoard Sharing Group. Startup Viraliti Taps Pinterest's Lucrative Advertising Space. Pinterest is the no. 3 social network in the world, with a recent study revealing that the site is actually better at getting users to purchase goods and product than Facebook. Interestingly, Pinterest doesn’t have an ad network of its own, inspiring the startup accelerator program Viraliti, which aims to solve this very problem. Viraliti calls itself the “adwords for Pinterest,” and is a platform which connects advertisers with Pinterest users, giving them a route to monetize pins while giving brands an opportunity for more exposure. The program runs on a CPC (cost per click) model. Advertisers are charged for legitimate clicks at a cost determined by a publisher’s influence on Pinterest.

A pinner who has more followers and generates more likes will get a higher CPC. Images on Pinterest go viral often, as users repin (or share) images on their own boards.
