Gorgeous Bird Paintings by Adam S. Doyle

Doyle who recently relocated to Hong Kong creates beautiful gestural paintings of birds, where the seemingly incomplete brushstrokes form the feathers and other details of the animal. In some strange way it reminds me of the story of the Renaissance painter Giotto who is rumored to have been able to draw a perfect circle without the aid of a compass, as if Doyle just picks up a dripping paint brush and in a few seconds paints a perfect bird.

In reality his work demonstrates a profound control of the paintbrush and careful understanding of the mediums he works with. Via email he tells me: Yes, what you see is what it appears to be—strokes of paint. Doyle most recently had a show at Skylight Gallery in 2011 and is now currently working on a new body of work in Hong Kong. Dominique Falla: We are all a Part of the Same Thing. Artist Book Series + Daily Art & Design Blog. Gabriel Moreno does beautiful work with such basic materials: a pen and a brush.

His illustrations begin in black and white, upon which Moreno builds, adding layers of color and images of other places and people tattooed into their skin. Flowers, birds, and faces organically expand from his subjects, as if a rush of creativity, or a dream, is escaping them. Julie Heffernan. From Julie Heffernan’s Constructions of Self Julie Heffernan creates sensuous figurative painting, like co-Yale MFAS, John Currin and Linda Yuskavage, but her luminous oils are patently unique among them and most working artists today.

Julie Heffernan

A Victorian impetus to conjoin, edging toward pastiche, creates artfully staged Surrealist environments. They avoid the mawkish or macabre by virtue of an evocative 17th century Baroque styling and the dignity with which she handles her primary subject, herself. Good construction is essential to the success of such works, built of disparate things suggesting disparate philosophies and ages. Yet the finished product is seamless, making it easy for the viewer to willfully suspend disbelief in the face of rampant artifice. 25 Striking Framed Papercuts by Peter Callesen

Using paper only as a source, he creates beautiful sculptural works. Each work is made by cutting out one sheet of paper, and using the removed scraps to create figures, buildings, and other objects. His work ranges from 2D to 3D. These sheets range from small a4 size or as big as 7m by 5m. Peter Callesen was born in Denmark, 1967. We absolutely love new creativity methods, and Peter has outdone himself with the following works.
