For years, I have been on a quest for the perfect carrot cake recipe. And I mean – No healthy wheat flour or applesauce substitutes. No pineapple. No coconut.
Can you call these cupcakes if you eat them with a fork? I discovered tres leches cake at a local Mexican restaurant, and have never been the same. However, last time I made it, I probably put on ten pounds. These little heavenly cakes are enough to satisfy a sweet tooth at the end of a meal, but won’t have you feeling like you need to run a 5k to burn them off.
One of my m0st favorite desserts to make for Valentine’s Day or special occasions are molten lava cakes. If you’re not familiar with these special chocolate cakes you’re in for a real treat. Each cake is baked in individual cups (or cupcake tin) and served warm with a melt in your mouth chocolate liquid center (lava). Don’t let the photo intimidate you from making these miniature decadent chocolate cakes from heaven. This recipe is really easy , quick to prepare and bake, forgiving, and will make you look like a rock-star. As a warning, if you dust them with a little powdered sugar, whipped cream, or a scoop of vanilla or mint ice cream, you may earn a reputation as a “Dessert Diva” and will be required to make these every time company comes over.
This is part IV in a mini-series of Harry Potter snacks from the books brought to life ( part I is on Honeydukes treats, part II is all about the cauldron cakes, and part III features every wizard's favorite drink—butterbeer!). I confess that Butterbeer Cupcakes aren't actually mentioned in the Harry Potter series. In my defense, if JK Rowling had been given one of these while writing the books, she would have found a way to fit them in. They are so exceptional, I wouldn't be surprised if she featured them as a major plot point.
Semi-homemade meets a good cause-I’m so rocking Sandra Lee style today with a tub of school fund-raising cookie dough. Some of you may be ready to click away, but do me a favor…keep reading because the end result it worth your time. I’m typically not a big fan of using premade cookie dough, but I am a fan of taking action when it comes to raising money for schools. Whether it’s stale popcorn, hideous wrapping paper or double chocolate chunk cookie dough, if it’s for a school, I’m writing a check! So with a giant tub of cookie dough in one hand and my mixer primed for some action, the pre-made dough ends up being the surprise star in these adorable Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes.
If you love Harry Potter, raise your hand! Meghan and I clearly do. Meghan made these adorable golden snitch cake pops and I can’t take one ounce of the credit, except for the photo!
I first tasted these two years ago at a Christmas party and immediately had to have the recipe. It’s based on a mix, but I imagine you can follow the same directions substituting from scratch cake and frosting (I’ll try that one day). You can also try it with other cake combinations. Red Velvet Cake Balls 1 box red velvet cake mix (cook as directed on box for 13 X 9 cake) 1 can cream cheese frosting (16 oz.) 1 package chocolate bark (regular or white chocolate) wax paper

Cupcakes are an easy sell. Add Nutella, and they’re a hit. Best of all, swirling the Nutella directly into the white batter before baking creates swirly, chocolatey tops that have no need for frosting – saving you a step. And if you have kids who like to lick the frosting off their cupcakes and leave a sticky stump, the Nutella is baked right in.
Hello sweet tooth! This decadent oreo cheesecake is literally just as good as it looks! I got this recipe from my wonderful Hungry Girl cookbook and I seriously didn't think it would taste as incredible as it turned out.
