The moment you’ve been waiting for. Seriously. The concept is this: We’ll start with a simple skirt and then sew a satin lining inside to make those delicate, fancy fabrics we love more user-friendly. Yum. If any of those sound foreign to you, you can find detailed info about every type of fabric in my book (wink wink). And of course this concept can be used for other types of fabrics, like cotton or knits and for other skirts types as well. We’ll make two versions: • a Skirt that uses the lining fabric for the waistband itself • a Skirt with a separate waistband Now lets talk about fancy fabrics. • Some can be washed; some can not.

I put together a onesie extender tutorial after realizing that I am indeed NOT made of money. The Undies don’t use any binding elastic bands. Cotton/Lycra rib knit banding was used on the waist and leg bands which can be found at any big box craft/fabric store. The instructions in the downloadable pattern give great detail for sewing with or without a serger. The perfectly finished seams look like they came right off the shelf at a childrens’s boutique.
