Like a Toy Story for the Internet age, Tom Jenkins's short film Address Is Approximate tells the whimsical and inspiring story of one toy's journey to the California coast. Using stop-motion animation to bring an office space to life, the little film packs so much imagination into three minutes that I wouldn't be surprised if Pixar had Jenkins driving to California soon enough.

The U.K. -based creative director talks about the making of the short in an interview below. The Atlantic: How did you get the idea for the story? Tom Jenkins: I came at this from the Google Street View side as I love the possibilities it offers. Are all the images on screen from Google Street View? Let's just say all the imagery in the film after the office guy leaves is 100% stop motion animation, and the iMac screen is for real and was animated during the shoot too.

How long did it take to complete the video? It took six long nights to shoot (I was the only crew member which made for a depressing wrap party!) Q&a with kate bingaman burt. Photo by Lisa Congdon at Rare Device. I'm especially excited to bring you the latest q&a with artist and graphic designer Kate Bingaman Burt. Kate has been extraordinarily busy with many projects ranging from hand lettering the brand new book Handmade Nation to a big move cross country, so it was super cool of her to make some time to answer some questions. She talks with us about everything from her project Obsessive Consumption to her mom on etsy. Kate's documenation of her purchases is so good for so many reasons, the main reason is that she takes an everyday occurence and turns it into art. That my friends is pretty neat. Please be sure to check out Kate's blog What Did You Buy Today? You started your brand/project Obsessive Consumption to catalog your everyday purchases.

I have always been a big list maker. Through this process of tracking and drawing your purchases, have you found out things about yourself that you didn't know before? Guilt plays a big role in my work actually. Whitezine | Design Graphic & Photography Inspirations. Arrows, and the capturing of a designer’s heart « Beautiful Hello. Have you noticed that arrows are sweeping across the design world and taking it by storm? …ok, before I go on, please know that I’m not trying to make any cheesy arrow jokes. They just happen! It’s crazy! Ah! Way before the hunger games captured the hearts of America (scary thought!) , and added its own little surge of archery-love to our culture, arrows were making a huge impact in fashion, design, and styling. I love them in a slightly hesitant kind of way. 1. PS. the adorable little arrow I used in my graphic can be found (along with several others) via Amy Morby.
