New England Stamper: 3D Projects. I promise this will be last red, white and blue creation for a while - honest! I received some newly released stamps from Pink Persimmon last week and when I saw the Flower Greetings set, I knew instantly that I wanted to make cupcake picks with it. I saw later that Pink Persimmon had a cupcake challenge on their blog, so that made up my mind - cupcake picks it was. We have a red, white and blue challenge on the Gingersnap Creations blog, so my colors were all set too. The picks are wooden kebab sticks from the grocery store. The satin ribbon rosette and all the layers on top of it are stuck to a 1 3/8" circle with a large glue dot, and taped to the back of the kebab stick with a piece of Scotch tape.
They are a little time consuming to make, but so much fun. Happy crafting! Supplies: Cubeecraft - Free Papercraft Toys. Up through the atmosphere, up where the air is clear... Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and I love hot air balloons! Even though in Mary Poppins no one sings about hot air ballons, they do sing about kites, and hot air balloons go to higher heights than kites--so I think it's fitting to invoke those movies. Also, does anyone else remember in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang when Grandpa Potts sets to the skies in his little house? Cardboard spheres found at Michaels craft store for around $1.30 each. You can get really creative with your balloon's decoration. The sky's the limit! I chose to paint primary colors using a high gloss acrylic paint. You will need some yarn or twine to construct your basket and to connect the basket to the balloon. You'll also need some fine wire to create a frame around which you'll weave the basket.
For the original ballons (my first attempt), I used a small wood block as the interior of the basket. This was really easy to make; just cut a strip of cardboard and fold it into four smaller squares. Fin. Flax & twine: Day 2: A Bow Bracelet - a diy ribbon jewelry tutorial. Ohh, I love this one. It is a beautiful bow, but on a bracelet, how unexpected! I originally made this bow to put on a barrette, but that just seemed too standard, girly hair stuff. So, I put it on my wrist instead and voila! I love it and I know Allie will too. Plus, there is something about this salmon color that you just want to dive in to.

I don’t know about you, but our wrists have been begging for another colorful addition for months now.
So after playing with some materials that were already on hand, we’ve created a tutorial for a braided bead bracelet, which is a not so distant cousin of the hex nut and wrap bracelet. Because honestly, you can never have too many . . . You’ll need: Cut the waxed linen cord into a 26″ and 19″ piece. Fold the longer strand in half. Tie a knot about half an inch down from the loops. Start braiding the strands. Push the bead against the base of the braid, and cross the left strand over the middle. Keep a finger at the base of the braid, holding the beads in their place and keeping the braid tight. Finish the bracelet with another inch of braided cord, measuring it against the wrist. Thread on a two hole button – two strands through one hole and one strand through another. Trim the end. Your bracelet is finished! (all images by HonestlyWTF)
