At the School of the Art Institute of Chicago's (SAIC) Department of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Designed Objects (AIADO), we encourage and practice a vibrant engagement with design at all scales, from body to environment. Different concepts of design are entering public discourse and design practices and are constantly evolving in our fast-changing world.
Designers need to be comfortable with uncertainty and complexity, often having to locate their creative imagination outside disciplinary boundaries. They become agents of design, entrepreneurs developing hubs of activity linking art, design, science, business, and culture. The AIADO department responds with significant alternatives in education. Traversing through multiple domains of knowledge will be essential, as will acknowledgement of risk taking as a path to opportunity generated from discovery-led work. We take play and risk seriously. CONVOCATORIA AL 3er CONCURSO DE FOTOGRAFÍA LA MEMBRANA | La Membrana. 26 diciembre, 2011 6:00 a 17 marzo, 2012 6:00 Con la finalidad de estimular, promover y difundir la creación fotográfica, La membrana convoca a todos los fotógrafos radicados en la República Mexicana a su 3er Concurso de Fotografía. Bases: Sólo se podrá participar con una propuesta o proyecto inédito y de reciente creación (2010, 2011 ó 2012), que conste de 3 a 12 fotografías. Técnica y temática libres. Sólo se aceptarán archivos en formato JPEG. Datos completos del autor: nombre, ciudad, domicilio, correo electrónico, teléfono y un breve texto sobre la descripción y justificación de la serie fotográfica, y de su experiencia en la fotografía. La recepción de los proyectos iniciará el 01 de enero y finalizará el 17 de marzo de 2012 (no se aceptarán proyectos fuera del tiempo estipulado, ni proyectos ya publicados o que participen en otras convocatorias).
