It is backed up by the Chamilo Association, which has goals including the promotion of the software, the maintenance of a clear communication channel and the building of a network of services providers and software contributors. The Chamilo project aims at ensuring the availability and quality of education at a reduced cost, through the distribution of its software free of charge,[3] the improvement of its interface for 3rd world countries devices portability[4] and the provision of a free access public e-learning campus.[5] Chamilo comes in two versions.

As a main difference to other open-source LMS systems, we want to make clear how we recover and summarize these statistics.

portals around the world

We know (because the same author did it and has since improved his methods) that the scripts that analyse the sites using D0keos are badly flawed and exagerate (up to 10 times) the number of users and sites registered as using it. Collecting the info We collect the information on these sites by allowing an opt-in system on the administration page of each portal. This option sends a small summary of the portal information, in the background, to our server. Summing up Once we get that information, we start filtering it. Conclusion While it is not clear how others calculate these amounts, we try to provide a very clear detail of our active users worldwide. The Chamilo Team can be contacted at info@chamilo.org. Chamilo - Chamilo Classic Campus. The Dokeos Learning Management System - Scothoser's Corner. Recently I have been looking for a learning management system for my personal domain to practice deploying come classes as eLearning modules.

I've used the University's Canvas system, which I do like, along with both WebCT and Blackboard in the past. But due to funding constraints on my private domain, I needed an Open Source LMS. But not just any LMS, because I wanted something that would cater to the mobile environment. So the search was on. I've used Moodle in the past, but haven't been too impressed with it overall. Then I came across Dokeos. The installation was pretty straightforward, though I had some minor setbacks with the MySQL database settings that took a few minutes to resolve. So what's the most impressive thing about it? So that's my initial review of Dokeos!
