Schlaich bergermann und partner. Original Creators: "Anarchitect" Gordon Matta-Clark. Each week we pay homage to a select “Original Creator,” an iconic artist from days gone by whose work influences and informs today’s creators. These are artists who were innovative and revolutionary in their fields—bold visionaries and radicals, groundbreaking frontiersmen and women who inspired and informed culture as we know it today. This week, on the 34th anniversary of his death: Gordon Matta-Clark. Because we rarely stop to consider them, everyday spaces are only meaningful to us in their functionality. We rarely consider a building or an outdoor structure for traits other than the facility it houses, and there are plenty of places we would rather keep out of sight and out of mind for their lack of functionality or beauty.

He may have been trained as an architect, but in practice, Gordon Matta-Clark was far less involved with creating spaces as he was with augmenting them and pushing us to consider their meaning and significance. Splitting (1974) Conical Intercept (1975) @ImYourKid. BUREAU A. The bureau Founded in 2012, BUREAU A is the association of Leopold Banchini and Daniel Zamarbide. Architects by training BUREAU A is a multidisciplinary platform aiming to blur the boundaries of research and project making on architectural related subjects, whichever their nature and status.

BUREAU A is profoundly rooted in architectural culture and history, understood as a vast field of exploration related to construction and installation of environments for specific purposes. The bureau expands its activities to a large diversity of programs ranging from architecture and landscape design to scenography, installations, or self-constructed initiatives. It has developed a specific interest in public spaces and political issues; how design and architecture can possibly confront them is at the heart of the interrogations cultivated by the bureau. BUREAU A invests widely in research, cultivating its partner’s interest in cultural exchanges and transmission through education. Contact. MAP. Untitled project - T38studio. Projecten – RAAAF. J. The Architecture of Atelier Bow-Wow: Behaviorology by Atelier Bow-WowRizzoli, 2010Hardcover, 304 pages Japanese architects Atelier Bow-Wow are known as much for the books they produce as for the houses they design.

The two outputs are inextricably linked -- the former researching the urban conditions of Tokyo, where the duo lives, and the latter a fairly direct product of such research on hybrid conditions, small buildings and so forth. Made in Tokyo and Pet Architecture Guide Book are the most well-known products of their research, structured like guides but presenting unique takes on the city they call home. Behaviorology collects most of Atelier Bow-Wow's built work, art installations and their research on architecture and urbanism. Alongside the documentation of Atelier Bow-Wow's output are essays by Terunobu Fujimori, Yoshikazu Nango, Meruro Washida and Enrique Walker. Each focuses on a different aspect of the practice, be it their architecture, research or installations. Terreform ONE (Open Network Ecology) RÅK ARKITEKTUR. Marshall Brown Projects.
