Personalized Travertine Coasters Unique Wedding Gift by CHManke. Christmas Decorations: The Living Room. It is my favorite time of the year! I have been a busy bee decorating our home for the holidays. Our house was suppose to be on The Chamber of Commerce's Holiday Home Tour, which was canceled last minute. So.....all those months of planning and getting the house ready for the tour, were NOT wasted! I absolutely LOVE the way my house has come together this holiday season.

This year I decided to go all the way with live greenery...no fake stuff here! I made the cedar wreath from clippings from our yard. After about 6 years of saying I was going to make us new stockings and never actually doing it, this year I actually did. For the coffee table, I was forced to make a burlap table runner after one of the boys took a metal truck to the top of it a few months ago.

Some people may think the candles you put in your windows may be a little old-fashioned, but I love them. This is my Granny's bookshelf that my parents gave me a few months ago. Christmas / Inexpensive decorating ideas for Christmas. Our Store. Suzanne Kasler Tinsel Tree. How to Make a Pinecone Garland | Ballard Designs Style Studio. How to Make a Pinecone Garland Doesn’t it always seem the moment fall arrives your schedule is suddenly jam-packed?

From festivals to football games and school social events, it’s hard to find the time to focus on the home. Some years it feels as if the moment you finally decorate for fall, it’s time to take it all down in place of red and green. Enter the pinecone garland. The beauty of this easy DIY decoration is you can put it up now and keep it up through the holidays and well into the New Year. What you need: Pinecones – found at your local florist supply or craft store (we used about 80 for a 6-foot garland) Heavy Twine or Moss Covered Wire – found at your local craft store Scissors or Wire Cutters Directions: Step 1: Measure out the length you want the garland to be with either twine or moss covered wire. Step 2: Cut about 6 to 8 inch lengths of wire and wind each piece around the top row of each pinecone so that it’s hidden by the ridges. My Version of the Ballard Alphabet Wreath.

I am sure you all have seen the lovely alphabet wreath in Ballard’s new catalog right? This one… Well that is actually the one from their website, but the one in the catalog looks prettier. Anyway, here is my version… Yes, I know it’s not as grand as the Ballard wreath. Anyway, here is how I made it. I took one of the $5 initials from Hobby Lobby… A very old wreath that no one bought in my garage sale… Cut off some of the stems (branches?) And just keep gluing pieces till you have it all filled up, tie some ribbon, and hang! Wow, I really need to clean that mirror better. Just a tip…since those particular initials are slightly heavier, they will wobble a little if you are just hanging with ribbon. Want more? So whatcha think? I bet y’all are all wondering why I didn’t use one of the 20 trees we have in the garage huh? Ballard’s, are you proud, even though I didn’t use spruce, mine is half the size of yours, and mine only cost $5 to make?

Yes… this is a stretch in terms of useful information but you never know when you might need a bow. poetic aren’t i? Keeping is simple…cut a square or slightly rectangular piece of fabric. i love burlap so that was my fabric of choice. scrunch in middle. cut some wire to desired length…i used rusted 16 gauge wire. begin about 6 inches up from end of wire and wrap around scrunched area of bow leaving about the same amount of wire at the end…twist to secure and curl ends. you’re done. grab a paper clip…slip it on the back and go!

Here are my suggestions #1… on a wreath #2…on a lamp #3…on a pillow #4…on a shower curtain #5…on some towels #6…embellish your towel rack [doesn't everyone do this?] #7…on a primitive painting #8…on on grate over mantle #9…on a wire basket #10…on a crusty old shutter #11…on a really crusty chippy window frame #12…on the family dog! Omg’sh…i didn’t even think about the grill of my car!

Before i ask your opinion…i’ll just share mine; “i like #3…the pillow the best” what about you? Featured tutorial simple Christmas stocking | Everyday Beautiful.
