This definition was developed for my final thesis project to generate a louver system based on functional requirements within the building.

This definition subdivides a surface into a quadrangular panels, plots a circle or a closed spline(similar to an ellipse) with center in the centroid of each panels, scale the radius dimension trough a numeric values extrapolated from the curvature analisys of the input surface. The complex structure of radiolaria was treated as a two-dimensional representation with a hexagonal pattern. Two points control the deformation of individual cells that make structure through a transformation of vectors connecting the vertices of the single cell with the point. The deformation of the grid can be caused by an attraction or a repulsion generated by attractor points. Investigation on the potentiality of numerical field generated by a source image. The height of one ellipse control point is linked with grayscale value of the image generating parametric variations in the starting flatten pattern.

Interior view. Last summer, I had the privilege to work with an outstanding group of students and colleagues on the design, detailing, robotic fabrication and construction of the ICD/ITKE Research Pavilion 2011. The project evolved out of ongoing research into biomimetics and robotic fabrication at the Institute for Computational Design (ICD) led by Achim Menges and was realised as part of a studio project in collaboration with our fellow institute for building structures and structural design (ITKE) at the University of Stuttgart. The pavilion was open to the public from end of August to early December 2011 and has since been published in print and on the web, most notably in the January issue of Detail magazine on Timber construction. I Have my component, a rhomboid it has a offset and a fillet to it. I am goint to attach it to a surface, i would however like to add an attractor that affects the offset amount of the component relative to the attractors position, for example the suns path affect the componets offset openings allowing me to argue the benifits of an intelligent facade system. Similar to the image attached by Zaha HadidAny help would be greatly appreciated.

It has been a busy couple of weeks here at the Scriptographer HQ, as we were adding new features and writing tutorials, squashing bugs, simplifying things further and also adding support for the new Illustrator CS5. We are quite excited about the mixture of new things, simplifications and more stability that we added to this release and think it was well worth the wait. We introduced a new way to organise your scripts that is far more flexible and also more secure, as it prevents you from accidentally overriding your own script files: The Scriptographer Repository Manager lets you define multiple script repositories that serve as root folders for your scripts. These root folders show up in the Scriptographer Main Palette as if they were all nested together in one parent folder, but in fact they can be located anywhere on your hard-drive, and really should be located outside of the Scriptographer folder.

This study started from the idea about ‘relaxation’ of ’3d voronoi’ space. Thus, it was made out of GH 3d voronoi component, and relaxation definition using David Piker’s Kangaroo and Giulio Piacentino’s Weaverbird. 3D printer was used to produce the small mock-up of this potential piece. I'm excited to release more information about a paper I wrote titled A Five Axis Robotic Motion Controller for Designers which was selected for publication and presentation for this year's ACADIA 2011 Conference: Integration Through Computation held in Banff, Canada from October 13th-16th.
