Neelkantheshwara Temple, Nirmal Jhar, Ganjam, Odisha - SIA Photography - Workshops and Photo Tours. During a road trip in Odisha, I stumbled upon one of the most peaceful and exquisite temples in the recent past – the Neelkantheshwara Temple, Nirmal Jhar, Ganjam district of Odisha Nirmaljhar derives its name from two words nirmala meaning pure and jhara meaning stream.

The sacred spring of Nirmaljhar originates from the foothills of Marua hill, a part of the Badaghati Mountains of the eastern Ghats About the Temple – The temple was constructed in 1676 by Raja Aparajita Sri Balukeswar Mardaraj who was the most popular and strong ruler of the Mardaraj dynasty of Khallikore. Nilkantheswar is the main deity of the temple. Other gods are Bimala, Radhakrishna, Jagannath and Surya, the Sun God. iCapture. There are three iconic temples in Orissa, of which only two are still in worship.

They are Lingaraj temple of Bhubaneswar built during the tenth century (in worship), Jagannath Temple of Puri built during the Eleventh century (in worship) and finally Sun Temple of Konark built during the 13th century. Nous continuons vers le majestueux temple de Konarak, où temple du soleil. Inscrit au patrimoine mondial de l'Unesco, c'est une véritable merveille, nous y passerons plus de 2 heures. Beautiful forests, tribal art, waterfalls, villages and beaches. We decided to sample as much as we could in the few days we had. Our base for the night was a very unique guest house /dorm near Puri in a village called Raghurajpur. A few years ago, it was identified as a heritage village by INTACH. Since then, the village has set up a guest house with 3 rooms to accommodate guests. Staying here was a very different experience.
