DIY projects made from everyday objects. As much as I love candles, I love decorative candle holders even more.
They are the perfect little accessory for any room. With just a bit of paint, transform a plain glass jar or bottle into a vibrant Moroccan lantern. Make them as housewarming gifts or display them at your next outdoor occasion. Either way, they're sure to be a hit! I guarantee you'll have a good time making these too. Materials: • Glass jar, candle holder or bottle • Transparent glass paint (2 colors) • Puffy paint/dimensional paint • Paper plate • Oven Steps: • Pour glass paint into the jar so that the bottom is completely covered. • Start slowly turning the jar on its side so that the paint begins to spread onto the walls. . • Still holding the jar on its side, pour your second color paint onto the side walls and continue to turn the jar so that all sides of the walls have some paint on them. • For a durable finish, let dry for a full 48 hours then bake the jar for 30 minutes at 200°F in a non-preheated oven. 20 Awesome Do It Yourself Projects.

Homemade Laundry Soap & The No-Poo Method. Oh hey.
In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been going a little hippie lately. What’s new? Last year I took up couponing, which isn’t necessarily hippie. But it is frugal. I also officially switched to reusable grocery bags in 2010 and we now recycle like it’s our religion. And now? Previously I’ve always relied on coupons to score laundry detergent for cheap. This recipe is incredibly simple; I adapted mine from SugarPie FarmHouse. I did one cup of each of the dry ingredients plus one bar grated Ivory soap and was pleased with the result. Here was my cost breakdown. 2 large boxes Baking soda: $3.38 1 large box Super wash soda: $3.35 1 large box Borax: $4.9910-pack Ivory soap: $4.37Total: $16.09 16 bucks for natural laundry soap isn’t a bad deal, especially since I expect it to last me well over a year, if not two.
For storage, I used an old protein powder container, but you can use whatever. So, about that ‘No-Poo Method.”
