Roswell Incident is first reported, July 8, 1947 | EDN. Roswell UFO incident. Coordinates: The Roswell UFO incident took place in the U.S. in June or July 1947, when an airborne object crashed on a ranch near Roswell, New Mexico. Explanations of what took place are based on both official and unofficial communications. Although the crash is attributed to a secret U.S. military Air Force surveillance balloon by the U.S. government,[1] the most famous explanation of what occurred is that the object was a spacecraft containing extraterrestrial life.

Since the late 1970s, the Roswell incident has been the subject of much controversy, and conspiracy theories have arisen about the event. The United States Armed Forces maintains that what was recovered near Roswell was debris from the crash of an experimental high-altitude surveillance balloon belonging to what was then a classified (top secret) program named Mogul. In contrast, many UFO proponents maintain that an alien craft was found, its occupants were captured, and that the military engaged in a massive cover-up. UFO Report. Fran Ridge: Updated: 2014, July 21 Nov. 17, 1986; NE Alaska 5:11 pm. Japan Air Lines flight 1628, a Boeing 747 with a crew of three, was nearing the end of a trip from Iceland to Anchorage, Alaska. The jet, carrying a cargo of French wine, was flying at 35,000 feet through darkening skies, a red glow from the setting sun lighting one horizon and a full moon rising above the other.

The crew first witnessed two unidentified objects to their left. These abruptly rose from below and closed in to follow their aircraft. Bruce Maccabee: I believe that the claim there was a 200 page "report" is an incorrect interpretation of what the FAA did release, namely. a raw data package that consisted of testimony of the crew and ground radar operators and transscript of the air traffic control tape and radar printout pages.

Giuliano Marinkovic: Brad Sparks: Japan Air Lines flight 1628 incident. Observation[edit] Locations of the Flight 1628 and subsequent incidents The first stage of the sighting occurred from point A to B, where two objects were observed.[7] Two and a half months later, Flight AS-53 recorded an unidentified object near McGrath, and a military plane observed an object between Elmendorf and Eielson air force bases. The routine cargo flight entered Alaska on auto-pilot, cruising at 565 mph (909 km/h) at an altitude of 35,000 ft (11,000 m).[5] At 5:09 PM, the Anchorage ATC advised a new heading towards Talkeetna, Alaska. Two objects[edit] As soon as JAL 1628 straightened out of its turn, at 05:11 PM, Captain Terauchi noticed two craft to his far left, and some 2,000 ft (610 m) below his altitude, which he assumed to be military aircraft.

These were pacing his flight path and speed.[8] At 5:18 or 5:19 PM the two objects abruptly veered to a position about 500 ft (150 m) or 1,000 ft (300 m) in front of the aircraft, assuming a stacked configuration. Mothership[edit] The truth is out there, but not everywhere. August 24, 2010|By Jon Hilkevitch, Tribune reporter The purported UFO that pilots and other eagle-eyed professionals reported seeing almost four years ago, hovering above Gate C-17 at O'Hare International Airport, never went away.

Don't get me wrong. The aviators, United Airlines ramp workers, managers and aircraft mechanics all said they witnessed the dark gray, metallic, disk-shaped UFO leave the restricted airspace over O'Hare with such tremendous force and velocity on Nov. 7, 2006, that it pierced a hole of crisp blue air in the cloud-covered sky. Hardly a day goes by that I don't receive e-mails or phone calls from UFO enthusiasts and researchers asking for an update to my exclusive Tribune story from New Year's Day 2007. The article was breaking news of a possible (or impossible) visit by extraterrestrials.

It also disclosed efforts by the Federal Aviation Administration and United officials to claim that they knew nothing about the UFO reports, despite the witness accounts. 2006 O'Hare International Airport UFO sighting. The Chicago O'Hare UFO sighting occurred on November 7, 2006, when people at Chicago O'Hare International Airport reported seeing a saucer or disc-shaped UFO. The sighting[edit] At approximately 16:15 CST on Tuesday November 7, 2006, federal authorities at Chicago O'Hare International Airport received a report that a group of twelve airport employees were witnessing a metallic, saucer-shaped craft hovering over Gate C-17. The object was first spotted by a ramp employee who was pushing back United Airlines Flight 446, which was departing Chicago for Charlotte, North Carolina.

The employee apprised Flight 446's crew of the object above their aircraft. It is believed that both the pilot and co-pilot also witnessed the object. Several independent witnesses outside of the airport also saw the object. One described a "blatant" disc shaped craft hovering over the airport which was "obviously not clouds.
