Fisher & Paykel supported the concept and gave our staff - from departments as varied as food testing to accounts - time to work on the blog. Originally our cooking-mad staff shared recipes on scraps of paper, photocopies or just a detailed description of something that the flat tried last night. We started to compile and photograph our favourite creations to share.

The recipes have been tested on friends, family and workmates, and only the best make it onto Our Kitchen. Sharing recipes, ideas, tips and passions is all part of Fisher & Paykel's Social Kitchen philosophy. Our Kitchen shows how our team are passionate foodies that cook and use our products every day, just like you. More. Family Recipe - Metropolis Magazine - June 2013. For most of us, preparing instant pancakes from a box is an easy, three-step affair. Gather and mix a few ingredients, pour the batter into a hot pan, flip. For Steven Savitzky, however, the process isn’t so simple. He was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at 18 months and today, at age 20, still lives at home with his parents on Long Island, New York. Cooking is a messy, chaotic affair, requiring both gross and fine motor skills and a level of attention and cognition that can elude many with this disorder.

The London Aquatic Centre is designed to accommodate the London 2012 Olympic Games whilst also providing the optimum size and capacity for use in legacy mode beyond the event.

The site is positioned on the south eastern edge of the Olympic Park with direct proximities to Stratford and new pedestrian access from Stratford City Bridge crossing over it. Its design addresses the main public realm spaces implicit within the Olympic Park and Stratford City planning – primarily the east-west connection of the Stratford City Bridge and the continuation of the Olympic Park space alongside the canal. The LAC is planned on an orthogonal axis perpendicular to the Stratford City Bridge, along which the three pools are laid out. The training pool is located under the bridge whilst the competition and diving pools are within a large volumetric pool hall. The overall strategy is to frame the base of the pool hall as a podium by surrounding it and connecting it into the bridge.

Sydney Opera House Preserved For The Future. By Jonathan Samuels, Australia Correspondent A team from Scotland has been dangling from the roof of the Sydney Opera House to scan every inch of the iconic building, creating a detailed 3D image. The opera house is one of 10 World Heritage sites being scanned, five in Scotland and five around the globe. Very few people are allowed onto the 'sails' of the famous Sydney landmark but the team of engineers was given rare access to capture the images. The scans will be turned into an accurate digital model which will eventually be available to view online later this year. Chris McGregor, from Historic Scotland, told Sky News the images will help with the management of the opera house and its maintenance. "It also becomes an education tool for all ages, from kids to students studying engineering and architecture," he said.

"You can also use it to book your seats for the opera. The scanning comes as the opera house prepares to celebrate its 40th anniversary later this year. He told Sky News he enjoyed the collaborative nature of the process and the difference in technique it required.

"In opera you're part of a team, a collaborator, part of a very big team and you don't have to do everything so I could just write a line like 'she enters the vertical pond' and hand it over," he said. "The whole story has to be delivered in dialogue. "If you look at a novel, a good percentage of it is outside speech marks, whereas, with a libretto, it has a very special delivery.
