How to Make a Poser Render Look Realistic. Poser Light Tutorial. I have been using Poser now for around six years and in that time have learn't alot about getting the best out of your renders.

I have created light sets for Poser that have been best selling products at Renderosity and I have decided to write this tutorial for beginners in Poser art. Here you can learn the basics about creating light sets and I hope that you can expand on this yourself with experimentation. Some parts of the tutorial may require you to have a basic understanding of Posers user interface. There are many ways in which to set up your lights which will all deliver different results but these are the steps I take when setting up a new light set. Step 1: IBL(Diffuse Light) Start a new scene in Poser and delete all of the existing lights. Next use the "Create Light" icon to create a new light. I always try and think of the IBL light as a shadow filler.

To easily Identify each light name this Light "IBL Fill" by clicking the name "Light 1" in your "Properties" pane. 1. 2.IBL light. DEMO SSS on Human Figures. I don't worry about DPI in renders, since it my understanding that DPI is just a way of getting your printer to tell you how big something at a particular pixel resolution will print. This is my understanding. If I'm wrong, I'd really like correction. If you need 100 dpi for a photo (and many 4x6's are fine at that dpi) then when you create a 100 dpi file and tell it to print, a 400x600 pixel image will print a 4x6 and an 800x1000 pixel image will print an 8x10.If you change the dpi on your image to, say 300, then the exact same 400x600 image will now only print a 1.33x2 print and the 800x1000 pixel image will print 2.66x3.33.

Exact same image, different size print. In other words, DPI isn't a quality of an image file. It's basically just some instructions to the printer. When you choose to change dpi in a graphics program, it will often ask you if you wish to resample. Reality 3 for Poser. Thank you for visiting my blog, I hope you will find this tutorial useful. I will guide you through three methods of using my new Product ID-Light. If you do not have ID-Light you may be able to follow some points and still understand but some points need props and settings only included in the ID-Light product. First of all this collection of lights can be used without the use of IDL (InDirect Light) which means you can use the product with Poser 6 and onwards. The results in Poser 6 and 7 however will vary considerable from Poser 8 onwards.

If you do however have Poser 8 onwards you have the extra benefit of using IDL. Method one- IBL lighting(used in Poser 6 onwards) ID-Light includes several IBL(Image Based Lights) which are created using the same images as the IDL set ups use. These setting are different to my usual advised settings and I have found them to be the best settings for a balanced outcome.

Noteworthy extras: Hiding the Sphere. I hope you found this tutorial useful. Tutorial Octane: Beginner (part 1) Hello everybody, as on demand i've done a little tutorial in 2 parts. In the 1st part we will the base of Octane & how to do a basic render. Let's start, part1! Requirements: Poser 9/2012 SR3 Nvidia cards Octane standalone Poser Octane plug-in Here's my basic Poser scene As you can see anything appear in Props, except the ground (important in the next of this part) Chose your light(s) or create it/them. When you have create/load your lights go to "Scripts" => "OctaneRender for Poser" & Create Emitters Lights. Go back to the 2nd step & now you see a new prop has appeared, this prop will be used by Octane to produce the light. Now made a basic scene: V4 + character texture+morph (or whatever you want). Sometimes a python error may be appears, this error is generated by a "bad" prop, if you have it you can't use it in Poser Octane plug-in!

Now we are in the Octane menu, here you're able to see some options: -Camera -Environnment -Imager -Kernel Change "filtersize" 1.5 to 1 (accentuate precision). Advanced Image Based Lighting in Poser 6. Advanced Image Based Lighting in Poser 6 Author : You can post any questions you have on this tutorial to this thread. This tutorial explains how to implement an IBL lighting system in Poser 6 which addresses some of the challenges with current IBL methods (specular and shadows).

The underlying method is quite advanced, and not necessarily for the beginner. However, I’ve provided a free script that will do most of the work for you. NOTE: This method will only work on the PC (and will not work on the MacIntoch), due to the requirement to use HDRShop, which is PC only. The basis of the method is that it uses an infinite lightset (from HDRShop) for 100% of the specular light and shadows, and 70% of the diffuse light. The only downside I can see to this method is that it can take a while to calculate the depth mapped shadows.

Before you start, you will need: 1) HDRShop (free) 2) Light_gen pluging for HDRShop (free) In HDRShop… 1) Import the IBL probelight image (accept default correction). SaintFox and Digital-Lion | Praeclarusa | Hennin and Torque Tutorial. Load both renders into your favorite graphic application. It is up to you if put the hairless render above the hair-and-hat render or vice versa. Try both ways and decide what works best for you and the specific scene. In the example above I use the "hair-render" as the upper layer. I set it to half transparent and erased all parts where I did not want to have hair. When you postwork renders by following this method, you will have to look carefully at the shadows, these may have to be corrected as well! When you are done set the hair-and-hat layer back to full opacity and you are done! All you have to do now is save a flattened image from your work.

To drape or not to drape... The number of frames you use is left up to you as well - you may want to start with something between 5 and 10 drape frames. Dyson Importer. HiI have a question about the Dyson installer from DAZ for Poser. Please treat this question as if I know nothing about anything and take me by the hand.First of all, how do I know what products it is supposed to be used for? Secondly, let’s say I downloaded a Dyson compatible product-hair.exe,now what do I do with this? Do I extract it as I normally would, and then when asked, install it into a special runtime folder that I’ve created just forDyson products?

Then do I go to my plug-ins section in poser when it’s running, and select the Dyson loader-will that then allow me to choose the item from my Dyson special folder? I guess what I’m asking is, once you’ve installed the Dysonloader, how do you use it? I need to know all the steps required from knowing what files are compatible, to extracting those files and where, to how to load them into Poser.

I’m totally clueless and don’t have a triple PhD in Computer Animation. DSON Importer For Poser Explained. Create Dson companion files with Daz Studio 4.6 /poser Pro 2014. Install content DS Poser. IES lighting just seems to add much more life than the simple lights available in Vray. The present tutorial will show you how to set up a IES in Vray and Render it, adding those stunning light effects to your images.
