Fall Sweets

As I mentioned last Friday , pumpkin treats are back at Starbucks for the season, which I am THIS excited about. I’ll admit that I tend to get irrationally irritated at the sight of unseasonably early Halloween decorations, costumes, and candy out in stores (which doesn’t even make sense because fun-sized Snickers are my favorite) but fall-inspired pumpkin drinks, breads, and baked goods? Can’t come soon enough.

Caramel Apple Scones

Caramel Apple Scones Caramel apples aren’t a big deal in my house for a few very-good-reasons. Personally, I can’t seem to get behind the idea that biting into a round and sticky surface is somehow going to work out all right. My son isn’t allowed to bite into anything hard with his front teeth since he knocked part of his tooth out with a baseball bat last year. The caramel would latch onto that temporary tooth and suck it right out of his mouth. And my husband just isn’t into getting messy at all.

Apple Sheet Cake with Salted Caramel Frosting

Salted. Caramel. It could quite possibly be the best stuff. http://www.motherthyme.com/2012/09/apple-sheet-cake-with-salted-caramel.html
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! I spent most of it up in the mountains, unplugged, with no cell service or Facebook (or blogging!). It was refreshing for sure! I feel more alive there: surrounded by pine trees and wildlife, breathing in the fresh mountain air, exploring with Dear Hubby and Babycakes. But I'm back, and this is the day you've all been waiting for: THE recipe for healthy Pumpkin Muffins (or bread) is in this post! http://noshandnourish.com/content/healthy-pumpkin-muffins-bobs-red-mill-giveaway

{Healthy Pumpkin Muffins} + Bob's Red Mill Giveaway! | The No Sugar Sweet Life

http://cookiesandcups.com/white-chocolate-brownies/ Sometimes you have one of those days where people are super annoying. Not anyone specific. Just humans in general. Like, hey lady at the supermarket…it’s not my FAULT that the credit card scanner thing broke on my turn. IT’S NOT MY CARD! I mean, I pretty much try to pay all my bills on time.

White Chocolate Brownies

http://iowagirleats.com/2011/03/16/you-need-to-make-this-casserole/ There’s really no other way to put it. You need to stop what you’re doing and make this casserole. Like, now. Right now! This is the second recipe I’ve made of Gina’s this week (the first being Saucy Balls aka Asian Turkey Meatballs with Lime Sesame Dipping Sauce,) and not only did this yummy casserole satisfy both husband AND wife, but it also took Ben and I back to the unforgettable Italian vacation we took this Fall.

Arancini Casserole

http://iowagirleats.com/2010/12/14/im-totally-justifying/ I’m suffering from two -day later syndrome today! Last night’s company Christmas party seemed like a late-in-the-week-type activity, which has left me feeling like it’s Friday today…all day. Thankfully the PTO God’s gave me an early Christmas present this year, to the tune of multi hours I need to use or lose before 2011, so I was able to hop out of work early and snag a primo spot on a treadmill at the gym! Zipped through this 50 Minute, 5 Mile Treadmill Routine: Followed up with 10 minutes on the elliptical at level 7 .

I love me some hot chocolate. In a big, obsessive way. http://www.melskitchencafe.com/2010/12/truffle-hot-chocolate-balls-sugar-rush-2.html

Truffle Hot Chocolate Balls {Sugar Rush #2}

First off let me just say how sorry I am that I haven’t really been able to get around and read other people’s blogs. I have been decent about getting stuff up of my own, but bad about getting to others. Sorry to say it will probably be that way for a couple more weeks. I also seem to be missing all sorts of blogging events…sigh.

Pumpkin Gingersnap Cookies | Gingersnap Cookie Recipe

I love Gingersnap cookies. I have two favorite recipes that I make around Christmas time- Gingersnaps with White Chocolate Chunks and traditional Soft Gingersnaps . I decided it was time to create a Fall Gingersnap cookie, so I made Pumpkin Gingersnaps.
No season makes me happier than Fall. Since moving to Montreal, the beautiful Indian summer has been one of my favourite moments of the year. Montreal weather tends to linger on (like our icy cold winters) but the peak of Fall only really last a couple of weeks so you have to learn to really appreciate it while it's here. Every morning during this time of year I can spot a new tree transitioning from green to a different shade of red, crimson, yellow and orange. There's something absolutely breathtaking to the vivid colors that nature projects in late September and October.

Oven-Baked Apple Donuts

I might be harboring a slight pumpkin obsession right now.

Hey everyone! How was your day? I was finally able to breathe and catch up at work – which was so nice. I also managed to make it out for a quick 20 minute walk and got a preview of what was to come during my run this evening…humidity levels gone wild!
... Cue the music Yup. That about sums it up for me this week.
