Creative use of typography in advertising | creativebits. Water Shade by Yitu Wang & Yanko Design. This project is completely apolitical. It IS literally a gate of water. This project goes by the name of “Water Shade” and keeps a shield of H2O around the fruit it is sworn to protect. It’s both a dish and a cover, working with water to keep freshness in and everything larger than Oxygen OUT! Designer Yitu Wang doesn’t want to keep you from your delicious apples though, so there’s a built in detector that sees your hand in approach, and thus is does desist.

Moisture is locked in. Freshness is locked in. Flies are locked out. Designer: Yitu Wang. Sarah Klassen/Haute Design: A Beautiful Combination. Whether rustic or refined, a combination to appreciate. Ivy-clad houses and walls, overflowing, layered pots, and garden beds in full bloom... dreamy! The combination of stone and flowers is just meant to be... like salt and pepper, each with their own purpose, look and feel... but together? Amazing. It's all in the contrast of old and new, and natural. I often wonder... do you recall the sweet old man in "Under the Tuscan sun" who would leave flowers for an unresponsive receiver at Frances' property line? Sony Ericsson FH Mobile Phone Concept by Du Jun & Yanko Design. The Turning Point For A Phone I love covering concept phones that may not have substance to them (tech-backing), but nevertheless are fun to read about. Featured here is a concept Sony Ericsson FH Mobile Phone that has a pivotal point to it.

It flips vertical on a pivot to mimic a phone and rotates sideways to become a viewing screen for the media functions and web browsing. The phone even becomes an intercom of sorts when split into two, allowing easy communication between the two parties holding each end. What a high-tech walkie-talkie this would make!
