So remember how I talked about hoarding? Well, if you don't remember check it out. I hoard a lot of things. One thing that I just can't break the habit of hoarding is tissue paper. I unwrap presents carefully so as not to rip the tissue paper. Sooooo, I figured out a way to put all that tissue paper to a good use. That's right! Once I had made a ba-gillion tissue paper flowers I then started from the bottom of the tree foam and began to glue them in place.

While doing this step I made sure to glue them close enough that I didn't see the styrofoam, but not so close that they overcrowded one another. When I was finished I used the extra tissue flowers to fill in the bare spots! Fact: I am somewhat lazy. Note: I used a cup as the base because it has a curled lip and it was more sturdy then just using scrapbook paper....it also provided extra height to the tree.

Disposable cups are hardly ever re-used, and they often find their end at the local landfill. So to cut back on this paper waste, six innovative designers in Japan have banded together to save the world from being overrun by paper cups. Using reclaimed cups, the crew has created a honeycomb wall lamp that shines bright, well beyond its stunning and sophisticated modern design. The designers Chengyuan Wei, Guanyun Wang, Ye Tao, Jianxing Cai, Chao Chen and Xuanxing Yang came up with the upcycled lamp. Each paper cup was first cut in half length-wise, and then arranged in a scalloped roof-tile pattern held together with glue. Resembling a fish-scale pattern, the lamp shape slopes into an organic half-egg shape.

The lighting elements are fitted at the bottom, creating a gradated warm glow. . + Chengyuan Wei Via Yanko Design. Green initiatives | Celebrate Christmas the eco-way | TravelWeekly Asia. Paper Christmas Tree. We have been playing with Christmas patty pans (aka cupcake liners) at our place. We have mentioned previously our huge addiction to cupcake liners. We found the perfect red gingham liners for our Christmas baking, and discovered we had plenty of other patty pans in Christmas colours in our ever growing stash so it was time to put some of them to use! Inspired by the gorgeous Cupcake Liner Christmas Tree Toppers from the Cake Blog, we created some Paper Christmas Trees.

After removing the bases of the cupcake liners, the pleated paper strips are perfect to wrap around a polystyrene cone to from a Christmas tree. With so many Christmas themed patty pans/cupcake liners available, it is fun to make some trees for the Christmas table. Best of all they are really quick to assemble (under an hour to make three trees) and we had all the supplies on hand.
