Evans Abstract It is postulated that in some elderly people there is a diminution of transport use of most vitamins, minerals and essential trace elements at the blood/brain barrier and, possible, in the gut., this leads to deficiencies in brain cells. It is postulated lip at these deficiencies in brain cells are the primary causes of the formation of lipofuscin and neurofibrillary tangles, finally leading to cell death. It is suggested that administration of vitamins and trace elements at higher than recommended intakes might halt the process at an early age, or slow the rate of development of the disease process.

Introduction This paper is based on a review of the literature with particular reference to the role of vitamins, trace elements and minerals in the pathology of dementia, particularly of the Alzheimer's type. Alz Iodine. Is Vitamin D Deficiency Linked To Alzheimer's Disease And Vascular Dementia? There are several risk factors for the development of Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia.

Is Vitamin D Deficiency Linked To Alzheimer's Disease And Vascular Dementia?

Based on an increasing number of studies linking these risk factors with Vitamin D deficiency, an article in the current issue of the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease (May 2009) by William B. Grant, PhD of the Sunlight, Nutrition, and Health Research Center (SUNARC) suggests that further investigation of possible direct or indirect linkages between Vitamin D and these dementias is needed. Low serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] have been associated with increased risk for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, depression, dental caries, osteoporosis, and periodontal disease, all of which are either considered risk factors for dementia or have preceded incidence of dementia.

In 2008, a number of studies reported that those with higher serum 25(OH)D levels had greatly reduced risk of incidence or death from cardiovascular diseases.

Allergies

(Morrie Brickman) Most allergies usually disappear while you wait if you use the safest, most powerful, cheapest and most effective antihistamine-antitoxin in existence: vitamin C. As Jacob Marley's ghost said to Ebeneezer Scrooge, "You don't believe in me. " Well, you don't, do you? How can a simple vitamin replace a medical specialty, and I'm telling you, it could. "Take C. Wisdom is inherent in simplicity and safety. So you question this naive approach? Tim brought in his wife and family to talk about scarlet fever. Tim called me a few weeks later. "Good resolution with the fever," he said. "That's really good, Tim," I said. "There's more to tell," he responded.

"And? " "And I'm allergic to bee stings. " Ulp. "I have medicine and an inhaler," Tim continued. "But you used your medicine, right? " "No! " I was unnerved at the high stakes Tim had played for, but impressed with his findings. Autoimmune disease and allergy are controlle... [In Vivo. 1994 Mar-Apr.
