It also includes a suite of versatile creation tools, many of which perform the same functions as the ones we use in other spaces. These include Google Docs, a word processing program that behaves similarly to Microsoft Word, Google Slides, a presentation program similar to PowerPoint, and Google Forms, a survey-creation tool similar to Survey Monkey. Although Drive also includes other tools, these three are particularly useful for creating rigorous, academically robust projects. If your school uses Google Classroom or at least gives students access to Google Drive, your students are probably already using these tools to write papers or create slideshow presentations, but there are other projects they could be doing that you may not have thought of.

Whenever assignments are created in Google Classroom they are individual assignments that had a teacher template to get them started. Naturally, I started getting requests for a method to make group assignments without a template to start. Google Classroom Gets An Update Ahead Of New School Year. Google launched a couple of updates to its Classroom educational platform today that will make life a little bit easier for teachers as they get ready for the next school year.
Classroom already integrates with Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, but with this update, Classroom will also automatically create a Google Calendar for each class so teachers can schedule field trips, guest speakers and other events. For students, the most important changes, however, are likely the new features Google is adding to the Q&A and discussions features in Classroom. Teachers can now post questions to their class and (optionally) have students discuss each other’s answers (and teachers can then grade these, too).
