November 1990, seven students of College Marcel Duchamp (Châteauroux Fine Arts School) conceived and performed a 13 minutes experimental/electronic improvisation piece during the opening of the exhibition of " Fallen Astronaut " artist Paul Van Hoeydonck in the Galerie des Cordeliers, Châteauroux. The College Marcel Duchamp, from 1990 to 1995, was an experimental school where the students used to work together in collaborative multimedia projects, very influenced by post-punk, industrial music, experimental cinema, dada performances and body art. Un joli spectacle ce week-end. Une mise en bouche qui avait parfaitement commencé avec les commémorations De Gaullienne, où notre président avait presque ouvert le cercueil du Général pour lui serrer la paluche. Ma voisine m'a indiqué qu'il "s'était assis sur la chaise sur laquelle le Général avait posé son cul pour la dernière fois puisqu'il y est mort". Le président aurait même lu L'Équipe et posé ses lèvres sur le verre à Porto sur lequel le Général etc... (comme la chaise) avant de s'envoler pour faire la bise expresso à ses 19 potos du Gang 20 et vite revenir.

Parce que c'est l'un des genres les plus représentés sur la toile (avec l'électro et le hip-hop) et qu'il faut très souvent perdre des heures avant de trouver un album vaguement intéressant. Dans le cas de Raincoat de Thee Brandy Hips , 4 éléments se sont télescopés en sa faveur : 1) j'ai passé la journée à écouter du très bon hip-hop et n'étais donc pas contre un peu de guitare pour assurer une transition certaine et sans douleur. Ici, dès les premières notes, j'ai senti que Thee Brandy Hips seraient à ranger parmi les très bons. Ils nous proposent en effet, avec Raincoat , un disque de pop-rock très agréable, relativement bruyant et direct, à défaut d'être génial. Et très rétro, aussi, perdu quelque part entre 1967 et 1997, en Angleterre.Ok, I don’t want to sound like a total record nerd, but I’m going to have to in order to relay this tale, which is likely mundane to everyone but

I heard about Tommy Flake (aka Randy Seals) performing at a local bar and, while I loved his latest CD, Second Skin, it was Friday night as I was tired from a rough week's work. 'inni' is either the first-ever sigur rós live album, or second live film (and follow up to 2007's acclaimed iceland tour film heima). in fact, it is both: a 75-minute film and 105-minute double live album of the band captured in full flow at the close of their last tour in november 2008, here housed within one single fat package. filmed at alexandra palace over two nights by director vincent morisset (arcade fire's 'miroir noir'), the movie 'inni' could best be described as the anti-'heima'. whereas that film took a band about whom the world knew little, and placed them in the cultural, social and geographical context of their homeland, (with winning and humanising results); the new film strips away everything save the raw performance of the four musicians themselves. where 'heima' was widescreen and open, 'inni' is close and single focussed.
