Critiques & News. Bands. Chocolate, Love, Sex. Fraction discs. Monthly Mix: September 2011. Save a bit of humidity, it is an undeniably autumnal day in NYC. It’s gray, it is wet, and it feels positively gauche to jam to anything that would feel right at a beach. So to help to fill the void created by expunging “sunny music” from your daily playlist, and to show solidarity with nature, here are 13 tracks representing some of the finest tracks the internet’s offered lately that also feel right for the season. This means darkened post-punk (The Soft Moon) and shadowy production hits (Purity Ring, ASAP Rocky), a run of chilly arpeggio chime (newcomers Dive, the prolific Atlas Sound), and the likes of Kurt Vile, Caveman, and Family Band, who have the bittersweetly seasoned air of quintessential fall artists.

As always, I spent altogether too much time sequencing this for maximum flow, so if indulge me the straight run through at least once before going ala cart with the sequencing.
