The grants may be grants for projects, operating grants, direct grants with International organisations and grants to Member States authorities and bodies for co-financed actions (called joint actions).

Since 2005, the Executive agency for health and consumers manages calls for proposals for projects and organises grants, conferences and relations with the beneficiaries of health programme funding.
