Bilbury-England. Back from the Cotswolds. Hello my friends, we are back home from a 3-days trip to the Cotswolds, the most beautiful and most famous part of the UK! This area really stole my heart! Since a long time, the Cotswolds were on my ‘to visit’- list and thanks to one of our clients who lives in the area, Jan and me had the opportunity to explore a part of the region after we had a meeting at our client’s home. The Cotswolds are often called ‘the heart’ of England. Today I share with you a few pictures I took during the trip!

No much words needed! I will post more about the Cotswolds in a later post! Chatsworth is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and has been passed down through 16 generations of the Cavendish family. The house architecture and collection have been evolving for five centuries. The house has over 30 rooms to explore*, from the magnificent Painted Hall, regal State Rooms, newly restored Sketch Galleries and beautiful Sculpture Gallery.

In the Guest Bedrooms, meet an Edwardian Lady's Maid who will be revealing the secrets of her mistress's suitcase of clothes, or dress up in one of our period costumes. Chatsworth has one of Europe's most significant art collections. The diverse collection has grown with each generation to live here, and the Devonshire Collection encompasses Old Masters, contemporary ceramics, artefacts from Ancient Egypt, modern sculpture and computer portraits to name but a few.

*Please note that each year during the Christmas season, the State Rooms and Sketch Galleries are closed for annual conservation. Find out more about the house. Evy's inspirations. The Swenglish Home. Colour cravings, anyone...? Well, that makes two of us! So, sticking my tongue out to the chilly wind, I today "recycled" a few tulips that were on their last legs, for a little colour therapy by the wall at the very back of our garden.

In the wind, it was touch and go if the petals were going to stick to their day job long enough to let me play, and later, when I was carrying my "toys" indoors again, these pink princesses bowed one last time and then spread their glory all over the ground... I have lived in the UK for over six years now, but my affection for the old stone walls in this country has not subsided. Not. And as a true quality of play, the imagination is allowed to run wild... So what if a small green cabbage was not meant for this... So what if it is perhaps rather more bizarre than beautiful... Tickling the creativity for a brief but blissful moment, and aaaaah - - my smile is instantly a little broader and more sparkling than it was a moment ago! So, today's conclusions? 1. 2. 3.
