Constantin Brâncuşi. Early years[edit] Brâncuși grew up in the village of Hobiţa, Gorj, near Târgu Jiu, close to Romania's Carpathian Mountains, an area known for its rich tradition of folk crafts, particularly woodcarving. Geometric patterns of the region are seen in his later works. His parents Nicolae and Maria Brâncuși were poor peasants who earned a meager living through back-breaking labor; from the age of seven, Constantin herded the family's flock of sheep. He showed talent for carving objects out of wood, and often ran away from home to escape the bullying of his father and older brothers. At the age of nine, Brâncuși left the village to work in the nearest large town. He then enrolled in the Bucharest School of Fine Arts, where he received academic training in sculpture.

Working in Paris[edit] In 1903, Brâncuși traveled to Munich, and from there to Paris. After leaving Rodin's workshop, Brâncuși began developing the revolutionary style for which he is known. Personal life[edit] Death and legacy[edit] Mikaël lafontan -- Photographe. Other Rhythms – Kristine Maudal. IT THRIVES ON MOVEMENT, and still more movement, endless nearly effortless movement, skiers flowing downhill like water, skiers pretending to be dancers and suddenly realizing they are dancers. Movement in the third person, skier as actor and observer, feeling yourself ski, watching yourself ski, applauding a great turn, catching your breath at sudden acceleration, waltzing into a double helix of interlocked curves; weaving three-dimensional patterns through four-dimensional time: right, left, up, down, right, left. Syncopating the rhythm: right, right, left, pause, rightleft, rightleft.

Jazzing the run, romancing the snow. Listening to the different rhythms of each slope, giving in to them one by one, finally moving with the mountain. Other Rhythms is an art project about rhythms, skiing, nature and joy. By including a skilled team representing expressions asfilm, dance, music and skiing the project is presented in various medias. ”Dance now, baby, dance…”
